Airbender 113
Hi So if anyone run into same issue as me at lest they have screenshots to look at and details of the issue So here is the answer i got: The meta data is on the PPU.1. Add a driver letter to the PPU disk so that you can access it.2. Navigate to it and delete the xxx.flxr file.3. Rename the xxx.flxr.bak to xxx.flxr.4. Run the Update task.If this does not work, delete all the content off the PPU drive, go to Toolbox -> Command Center, and re-Create. I personally did not try it yet but i will only thing i dont know is how will i add drive latter to the drive ppu and the access it but i hope this help others at lest Thanks

wraslor 70
You can tell the usage of the drives in flexraid's management interface, not 100% where it was located since I don't have raid-f installed anymore.

pmac 132
Thanks, @@Airbender. My updated post from the other thread: @@Airbender, like I've mentioned before, I'm very new to this... Thanks, Patrick Also, I've read somewhere that I can take my Green drives out of their external enclosures and use them as an internal drive, but I've also read conflicting reports that their SATA <-> USB controller won't allow this. Has anyone here tried this? Or should I just leave them as external drives. Sorry to go a little off topic. Airbender 113
Hi @@pmac so here is anthor example of a user ask question about why FlexRaid and the infomations you will find help full also sorry i am throwing so much at you but at the end you will be please with results so what are the advantages of this raid software over others? Is there a reason that you were dead-set on using a raid setup, that has obviously fallen behind on supporting their software and website? Hello Tusselo, so what are the advantages of this raid software over others? Answer: FlexRAID Software solutions is one of it kind , the code is different then any i seen by far that even ebr one of the most genius programmer/devloper in MB3 uses it. The solutions is divided into few software's 1- Parity Protection : on a separate drive 2- Hard drives Pool 3- Parity + Pool ( Raid F) 4- transparent raid (tRaid) 5- Some other software + Legacy By Far everyone like Raid F at this moment because 1- It make one large Pool of all Hard drives 2- Provide Parity 3- on Click network shares files with all permissions setup properly 4- ect transparent raid (tRaid) is very new base on NZF , i did not look into NZF and what it stand for but in real time it will calcualte your parity and update your save drive and same time sync all of your data and if one drive died then you can reubit it on fly and still have your other drives and data available Is there a reason that you were dead-set on using a raid setup, that has obviously fallen behind on supporting their software and website? Answer: that what i thought 2 months ago and i was mad and angry but after i start using it and ask questions here and there and did research now i change my mind. The guys at flexraid are good and very helpful but it takes them long time to respond , i guess MB3 Fourm and avs fourm kinds made us all feel like if we post a questions we will get answer in few seconds and we cant wait anymore. Yes they are behind in support and upgrading their site but they are small business and small orations so it is ok to wait on answers for some time. My mini series video will help everybody to install and configure tRaid and for Raid F there are so many HOWTO so setup and config is not an issue. So far flexraid guys renewed my trial license for both Raid F and Raid t 3 times with no question ask , they are small and slow but nice Is there a reason that you were dead-set on using a raid setup It work for my needs Pool , Parity , Network share folders , just work for me , i have hard time to deiced on which one to buy or buy both and trust it does work You will run into challanges but in world of computers who does not run into issues So here is a video i made for Raid F in action so you can compare both F and T Hope this help Thanks

I am hoping to be able to use the drives I already have, but from what you say, a USB drive will not work with Raid-F? If that is true, I will take them out of the enclosures and use as SATA if possible.
Airbender 113
Yeah take them out and use them as internal , see if you look at all the links I provided you all your questions will be answered bro and you will setup a system that is a kik ass Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
pmac 132
Most of the links you provided will help me when I start to set up a FlexRaid, but before I can get to that point I'll have to make sure I have all the proper hardware that I'll need. From what I understand from your posts, I won't be able to simply install FlexRaid and run it with my current setup, is this correct? If not, would my best choice be to install a SATA controller on my current system, and hook up all my drives in a separate case with adequate cooling that piggybacks my current system? Sorry if that doesn't make sense, I'm just not sure what the proper setup is to use a system like this. Ideally I'd like to keep everything in the case I have, and still be able to use it as my main PC and HTPC the way I do currently. The only drives I'd like to RAID are my Media drives (4 hooked up currently, but have another 1TB that isn't hooked up, and will also be adding a Parity drive, so 6 drives in total). If USB is not an option with Raid-F I will need to put my drives in a separate enclosure, since they won't fit all fit in my current HTPC case. But I'm not really sure how this can be done and still hook up to my current PC, but I will research that more once I've figured out the proper route to take.
