Luke 37008
Please try 3.1.87 beta (or newer). A dlna fix was made for Media Monkey. Maybe it will have some impact here. Thanks.

And you think a change like this: - id = parts[24]; + id = parts[23]; will make Andriod based TV devices appear in the list of DLNA client and will enable the TV to browse the content of emby via DLNA? Hard to believe.

Hard to believe. It enabled Media Monkey to browse the content, so it is at least worth trying.
josch.hh 2
And is Media Monkey appearing in the device list, i guess yes? Anyhow, this patch is not working. Please take a look into other open DLNA servers how they are able to serve Android TV's, it is at least worth trying.

AgileHumor 123
I don't think playback was ever an issue. Both Philips (for josch.hh) and Sharp (for me) never show up as a device to play to.Playback is a future problem for this thread Just wanted to confirm that this has not fixed the issue with some DLNA TV's showing up in Emby (but do work fine with Plex or Windows Play To/Cast). This issue has been documented for over a year: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/11522-sharp-aquos-smart-tv-dlna-not-showing-in-mb3/ and http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/25739-sharp-aquos-tv/ Edited September 2, 2016 by AgileHumor
andi_s 1
Hello, I have just the same problem as josh.hh with a Philips 40PUK6400/12 Android TV. I see the EMBY server as a DLNA server but the content is not displayed. I works e.g. with PLEX or SERVIIO. I tried to force the TV to use the following other DLNA profiles of EMBY: BubleUpnp, Kodi, LG Smart TV, MediaMonkey, Panasonic Viera, Popcorn Hour, Samsung Smart TV, Sony Bravia 2013 + 2014, VLC, WDTV Live and XBOX One I ensured that the change worked by adding another "friendly name" in the server settings and restarting EMBY between each test but the result was always the same. Does it make sense to further experiment with other DLNA settings in the profile? Which ones are related to displaying the content / folder structure of the EMBY DLNA server? What option could I try? Or is this something only the EMBY developer can solve? Thanks for your help, Andi
Luke 37008
Hi, what version of Emby Server are you running?

josch.hh 2
the dev could create a test version of emby with a much higher level of logging, even above debug level. first we need to figure out why the devices don't show in the emby device list as dlna rendereres. my tv is listed as chromcast ... and other formats but it never appears as dlna client. guess this would be the first step. I mention already that I can force emby and the android tv to work (more or less) together while using the upnp controller software: http://www.eezupnp.de. the result is not really good and far away from usable .... anyway it is a test for a connection between the server and renderer. so mr. dev it is up to you to give us something to test
josch.hh 2
Since 3.1.147 it is even worst for Philips. Now emby is not showing anymore in the server list of the TV. I was hoping that the "Rework upnp discovery" would do some magic, but not the case
andi_s 1
Hi josh.hh, what is 3.1.147? Is that a beta version? My server version is 3.0.7100 and that should be the latest version. No improvements regarding this issue since 3.0.6400 though... Andi
