Debating on buying a Roku, need some questions answered...

First of all... it's basically almost entirely for Media Browser, YouTube, and Netflix. I already have an Xbox 360 but I'm very dissatisfied with MB's performance in an extender format, and my rips don't play back very well at all. On the contrary however, they play exceptionally if I just load the file on my PC and play.

Which Roku box is best for my needs?
Is there external (.SRT) subtitle support for movies while in the MB app?

Any other "gotchas" I should know about?

Thanks for any help here, it's greatly appreciated!

Also, if you want Netflix and Youtube, I would suggest the Roku 3. For starters that is the only model that currently supports Youtube and it is also currently the only model that has the latest interface design for Netflix.

The biggest thing is make sure you have movie files (eg. mkv file of the movie) and not folder rips. Yeah we support folder rips, but it is experimental and will probably always be unless the tools we use end up being able to do a better job of reading them.

As for subtitles. If the server understands it and currently can play it in the web client, it should be picked up and shown on the Roku.
