Qub1 3
Hey everyone, my first post So I've been using Emby for a while now and so far I'm enjoying it. I only had one issue, and that was that I couldn't get VLC to start from the web client on windows. And, according to this thread that wasn't possible either. However, years of tinkering with computers taught me that pretty much everything can be done with enough persistence So, I went ahead and whipped up a small program that will register VLC as the handler for the vlc:// protocol. This will allow you to start VLC from the web client by using the "External player" functionality. To install: Copy the "protocolhandler.bat" file to your VLC installation directory (typically "C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC") Run the "registry.reg" file and accept the changes Enjoy! Now, whenever you select VLC as the external player, it will actually open! That's all! Enjoy.
