axehandler 6
I recently setup a new media center and she is working fine inside WMC. But due to the unique setup, ServerWmc appears to be having an issue. Below is my Tuner setup. In my 8.1 WMC the Hauppauge is connected to a Direct-TV box and only works with the DirectTV channel lineup in WMC. The Ceton 6 Tuner is Connected to the Cable Services and only Works with the Comcast channel lineup. (I've used NO hacks or REGEDIT tricks - when setting up the tuners, during the setup I said Satellite, it setup the above due to the cablecard system) In Emby, If I tune a Cable channel ServerWMC will grab *ANY* tuner. so even thou I turned to channel 811 (a HD Comcast channel), a channel WMC will not attempt on the Haupppage, ServerWMC will attempt to use the Hauppauge tuner. That is the Basics... Is there a way to Solve this? A config file I can adjust? I Thank you for a great program. and Thank you in advance for any help that you can provide. Solution krustyreturns 191 Posted April 19, 2016 Solution Share Posted April 19, 2016 (edited) By default serverwmc grabs tuners in the opposite order that wmc does, this usually works fine but for setups like yours it can cause problems. To make it grab tuners in the same order that wmc does, go to its settings file (see debug tab) and search for Decoy_LiveStreamProtectLevel, then change its value to 0, ex: <Decoy_LiveStreamProtectLevel>0</Decoy_LiveStreamProtectLevel> then save the settings file and restart serverwmc. The downside of running this way is that if you are watching a channel and a scheduled recording starts on that same channel, the live stream will stop and you'll have to restart it to keep watching it. If that will be a problem for you also, consider setting Decoy_LiveStreamProtectLevel to 2, which is a kind of compromise between the two extremes. axehandler 6
Per your instructions I switched Decoy_LiveStreamProtectLevel to 2. With some Quick testing that appears to resolve the issue. I am curious why they is not the Default option thou? Axe
krustyreturns 191
It doesn't offer as much 'live stream protection' as the default option. With the default, the only time a live stream will be stolen by a recording is if you have no tuners free. With the option you chose, it only protects one live stream (although this setting can be changed too by the changing Decoy_FixedDecoysPerLiveStream). So if you had two different live streams running, the tuner might get stolen by a recording if its on the same channel. Most users have multiple - identical - tuners so taking them in reverse order is no problem and offers the best protection. Another option that might work for you is to go back to the default setting, but in wmc for the channels you care about, turn off the hauppage as a tuner source. Then only the cetons will be used by serverwmc (and wmc) for those channels.
axehandler 6
I completely rebuilt and troubleshot this New window 10 Media center..... I have 2 cetons totaling 10 tuners and the hauppauge... running with several kodi's and 2 Xbox 360s as Extenders. Changing the source on almost 400 channels... would suck! However I switched the source on all of them... after what it took to make Media center work with extenders on Win 10 no need to leave a possible problem later..... Again thanks. Luke 37060
@@axehandler We now have native Hauppauge support available for testing in the Emby Server beta: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/54560-32609-hauppauge-support/?hl=hauppauge No plugin required.
