Not showing subdirectory/library of photos

I have recently moved from Plex to Emby. It just seemed like a better choice.

My problem is that on my NAS I have the following structure for photos:

/mnt/my-nas/Photos-Videos

This is defined under "Libraries" as "Private Photos-Videos", and is only accessible to me and my family and works as expected.

I have however a subdirectory that I wish to share with some friends, and this has the following separate library definition:

/mnt/my-nas/Photos-Videos/2014/Motorcycletrip

This is defined under "Libraries" as "2014 Motorcycle trip", there are no subdirectories here, and only a few users have been given the right to access this library.

(All have "Photos" as library type).

When I access this library I get all photos  starting from "/mnt/my-nas/Photos-Videos". I don't like this, but can live with it.

(With Versjon 3.0.5930.0 this changed. Now nothing comes up in neither Albums, Photos or Videos. At least it is consistent.)

My friends however, those who only have access to the "2014 Motorcycle trip"-library don't see anything at all.

No albums (not so strange since there are no subdirectories), no photos and no videos.

This worked fine with Plex, except for the fact that I had to use two library definitions, one for photos and one for videos.

Does anyone have an answer to this? Please help.

So far, 30 views and no response. Am I the only person with this problem.

BTW additional info:

Emby Premiere lifetime subscription

NAS - Readynas Ultra 6

Emby server running Linux Mint

Problem occurs on web client as well as Emby theater for Windows.

Please advise.

If I understand what you've done correctly, I think the issue is that we don't currently support creating a library that is pointing to a sub-folder also contained within a different library.

I believe you could accomplish what you want by creating a new folder in your file system at the same level as "photos" and then putting a junction under that pointing to the sub-folder you want it to actually point to.

Hi, welcome, if it helps, your question was sitting in my queue for me to respond to. This one is a little harder than most so that's the reason for us not responding quite as quickly.

Anyway I took a look at the code and I was able to get your scenario working, so now you can use either your original approach or Ebr's suggested approach above. the change will be available for testing in the dev and beta branches over the next couple days. Thanks.

Ebr & Luke,

Thanks a lot for your response. I will try out Ebr's suggestion (it makes sense), but I will also look into and check up on the dev and betas.
