Proper Metadata/image downloading?

What is the proper way that mb3 should be downloading metadata and images?  I notice 2 different styles? 

The first is the 'standard' way I have always been seeing ie. backdrop.jpg, banner.jpg, clearart.png etc.   The second I have been seeing more recently  ie moviename-backdrop.jpg, moviename-banner.jpg, moviename-clearart.png etc 

If there is only 1 way, any idea why I get 2 different styles?

I am currently running Server  Version 3.0.5105.17830 and the movies are stored on a Qnap server.

check the image saving convention setting in the metadata config area

I have it set as Standard mb3/mb2. Attached is an example of what is happening in a few cases.  this instance just happened with out any changes being made to the server.

that should only happen if there's another movie in the same folder. so i'm guessing there's not?

Nope   just one movie.   I think I figured it out. Looking at the times that the files were created, I think the server was in the process of doing a "scan media library" while I was in mbc and I hit "ctrl r" because no metadata was showing. I'll monitor it closely in the future to see if that was the root cause.
