Audio out of sync on shows recorded with Emby

Hello, Anyone else having a problem playing media that was recorded and converted on the fly with Emby? On all my shows that I record, the audio and video is way out of sync by about 3-4 seconds. Only occurs on Emby for WMC. The web client, Emby Theater, Emby on a ASUS Nexus TV or playing the file directly all play fine.

I'm on Emby for WMC Version 3.0.299.0 on Windows 7, Emby Server Version 3.0.5882.0

Thanks, but to me seems to be more isolated to Emby for WMC and not so much on the server side, since Emby for WMC is the only one out of sync. All other applications play just fine.... But I have no problems waiting for the next server release if you think it'll help.

As always, thanks for the help!

Then it would be related to your codec setup on that machine more than likely.  Or it could be because EMC cannot access the file directly so it is transcoding it.

Is there a recommended codec setup or a guide to use? I'm guessing Emby for WMC uses WMP to play the video's and I also get the same out-of-sync problem when playing directly in WMP.

I had the K-Lite codec pack installed so I uninstalled that, and uninstalled/reinstalled my video and audio drivers. Same problem, and without the codec pack, I can't play most of my other video's.

Is there an internal Emby player that I can use instead of resorting to WMP?

I would uninstall all codec packs and just install LAV.  It should be all you need.

I did uninstall all codec's, I had already mentioned that. So I did install LAV and didn't change anything.

I got a 2nd PC without any codec's previously installed and it is also out of sync.

Am I the only one with this problem? Is anyone else able to play MP4 Emby recordings in EMC in sync?

Are you sure they are direct playing in EMC?

Maybe the real difference is direct play vs. transcode.

Not effectively for WMC.

Instead, compare that to how they are playing back in the other apps where you said they didn't have the sync issue.  I still think this is an issue created when they were encoded as reported in that other thread.  Which means it should get fixed by a server update.

Fyi, some audio sync fixes have been applied to the recording conversion process but it won't affect existing recordings.

Hi, so i've updated the server to Version 3.0.5911.0 and installed a fresh copy of Windows with ONLY the LAV filters and EMC version 3.0.302.0. New recordings are still out of sync.

They play fine in VLC, out of sync in Windows Media Player.

Then it sounds like an issue with the codecs being used by WMP/WMC.  Check for any audio sync settings in LAV.

Any recommendations on what settings to change? I don't know what most of the settings mean but the only one I see that would be relevant is to delay the audio, except the audio is 1 or 2 seconds behind the video. Also, I'm guessing that would change it for all files where only the files recorded from Emby are the ones that are out of sync.

Has this been tested or am I the only one having this problem? I feel like this would be easily replicated. I've tried 3 different computers, one of them is a completely clean Windows 7 install with only Emby for Media Center and LAV.

I know this is an old topic but looks to be finally resolved since adding the option to preserve original audio when converting recordings. Since checking that, audio on new recordings have been in sync with video in EMC.

Much appreciated!
