Hi,

I created a new plugin called "Metadata Viewer". The purpose is to provide an easy and integrated way to view and compare the metadata content delivered by the individual providers for any library item.

The plugin allows interactive change of the metadata language, so localized provider results can be compared as well.

To install, simply copy the attached dll file to Emby's plugin folder and restart Emby:

Latest version: https://github.com/s...ases/tag/Beta14

To use, open "Metadata Manager" and select an item.

On the "..."-Menu for library items there is a new entry "View Raw Metadata":

When you click this item, a dialog will open and display metadata of all available providers for that item type in a table for comparison:

In the top section you can change the language. The data should update instantly..

If not in Mtetadata Manager the dialog box opens behind the edit box and is unselectable. v3.0.5915.0

EDIT - Only displays like this in Chrome, Edge and Firefox are fine.

Where is that place "not in the Metadata Manager" where this problem occurs?

Actually this problem shouldn't be related to my plugin because I'm just adding that single entry to the menu.

True it would be a bug in 3.0.5915.0 similar to what is reported here.

As for not in Metadata Manager, I mean clicking edit from any other screen.

Probably at some time, but for now it's out for testing

Ah, right, I'm seeing the same bug here.

But does it work from within Metadata Manager for you?

Do you find it useful? What could be improved?

@softworkz, is it just me or is the plugin non-functional in 3.0.5917.0?  Nothing happens when I click "View Raw Metadata".

Dev 3.0.5926.41142, plugin shows installed but no "View Raw Metadata" option on Edit-Menu.

Correction - no option displayed in Chrome, but visible in Edge and Firefox, but non-functional.

Fixed in both current dev and beta.

Had to clear the browser history for it to appear in Chrome on my dev test machine.

Great! Thanks for the quick feedback..

PS: From my experience, it's sufficient to hit the refresh button in Chrome to invalidate the cache..

Tested on Windows only so far.

I may look into supporting other platforms at a later time.

This is amazingly useful! Anything I can do to help the crossplatform stuff please let me know.

Nicely done!
