__No longer displaying any CAST/Actor images__

Not sure when this problem may have started, but I just noticed it a few weeks ago.

When looking at any movie, when you go to CAST to see pics of the actors, they ALL display the default pic.  I looked at the server and the IBN folder and all the thousands of folders/images are indeed there.  I then looked at the EMBY Classic log and from what it appears, EBMY Classic is looking in the wrong place on the Server for images????

Here is the logical address from the Server for the image of Mark Wahlberg:

C:\Users\SERVER\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\ImagesByName\People\M\Mark Wahlberg

Attached is the log of me duplicating the issue in as few steps as possible (to avoid clutter).

Any ideas why NO Images display anymore?

Thanks,

Rob

  • Solution

Go to the front page server dashboard. Under paths, take note of the metadata path.

Move your People folder so that it's underneath that, then run the people refresh scheduled task.

Did something change (where pics are stored) with either the Server or Emby Classic update?  Am I the only one to have experienced this?

You probably customized via an undocumented, hidden config switch in the xml file. That switch caused some difficulties and has been removed. You should make sure to use the web interface to customize your paths.

Geeze, I've been using Emby (MB1-3) for so long, but I would assume that that sort of change would have been something more recent?  I do remember making a change in the XML file a long time ago (before it was Emby...i think), but I don't think it had anything to do with the IBN or people pics.  Plus I would not have made any changes to it without the recommendation by someone on these forums to possibly solve an issue I was having at the time?

REGARDLESS,

I did what you suggested and it is now working again!

Thanks Luke.
