Odroid C1 is my new favorite kodi/emby client

So I thought I might post for anyone wanting opinions on a under $100 Media Client.

I got 3 Odroid C1 boards from hardkernal. They were originally for a project that ultimatally failed, but I was able to keep the boards and play around with them.

They came out with a C1+ with a few new features but almost the same.

After some fighting I was able to get Kodi running on the Odroid with a custom built openelec. (Not built by me, but by zalaare at the HardKernal Forum) A little more fighting (minor) got emby installed and synced. Started up two more clients and had all three streaming 1080P from My emby server over the same wifi. Full quality output, no lag, sync, or issues of any kind really. Best of all these seem to be happy running on the power provided by my cheap tv's USB "service port".

The C1+ would be around $60 with a case, wifi, and microSD. They have a special eMMC storage device that has great preformace. Its more expensive and I have not tested the micro SD option to see if its really worth it.

*disclamer: the boards were given to me by an entrepreneur that wanted to make the next best media center. We could not make his vision come true but he let me keep the boards as a thanks for the work I did. No one compensated me to write this. I just had free time, with the temps below freezing outside, to dig these out of the closet.
