Back to Back recording on the same channel with padding

Hello, I am currently trying out several media/tv recording solutions, and I am really liking Emby, however, when recording back to back shows on the same channel it is not functioning the same as others programs (jriver, mediaportal, and I think nextpvr). 

 

Emby uses a second tuner to start recording the second show x minutes early depending on padding, but this is unnecessarily tying up a second tuner. What other programs do is write to multiple files using just one tuner during the overlap period, freeing up other tuners for other channels.

 

This is using a HDHomeRun Prime and native Embytv.

 

Is it possible to enable Emby to do this, or is this something that could be looked into? Thanks.

This has been discussed - and AFAIK it is on the roadmap.  I am looking forward to this feature as well.
