Polygon 0
I've never had this issue and it just started last night. I attempted updating the Roku. I decreased the bitrate. Nothing. It constantly has to buffer watching SD or HD content. I am streaming over a gigabit LAN connection. Server is running on a pretty stout system with a Core i7 2600k. Any ideas? Polygon 0
Sorry, here's a link to the log from this morning when I tried it again. Looking through it I see a theme here. Really poor response times. Which I don't get. The files play perfectly fine on my computers. http://synapsepc.com/BlastMode7/server-63586512000.txt Edited December 24, 2015 by Polygon

Polygon 0
Here are two. One is HD and one is SD. http://synapsepc.com/BlastMode7/transcode-7278c547-f43f-4fa9-b1a0-bbf3fe1447c4.txt http://synapsepc.com/BlastMode7/transcode-8b61b723-39fa-46d2-a36a-fd48a1ad477f.txt
Solution Luke 37008 Posted December 24, 2015 Solution Share Posted December 24, 2015 you're only getting about 20fps which isn't fast enough to be watchable. try turning off encoding debug logging. i removed that setting from the UI for this reason - users were turning it on when not necessary and then finding their encoding speed reduced. So try shutting down the server, going to the server's program data folder /config. i think it's encoding.xml. delete that file. if it's still slow after that then your system is just not transcoding it fast enough.
Polygon 0
Yeah, I noticed that. Which didn't make sense to me. It certainly isn't a hardware limitation. I looked in server and that was checked. I unchecked it, deleted the XML file and restarted the server and that seems to have solved it. Checked the transcoding logs and the frame per second have gone way up. Thanks!

tacticalcity 12
Only file type I have this issue with (that I know of) are MKV files. My server is just not powerful enough to transcode them and serve them up fast enough. MKV files have frankly always been a nightmare to deal with and never really played right on anything without installing a player specifically for them, which I am pretty sure is not an option on Roku. Going through and replacing all the MKVs on my server is gonna be a pain. Edited January 5, 2016 by tacticalcity
