The key "name" above is empty. This is supposed to contain "720P/H264/AAC" style value. The resolution/vcodec/acodec needs to be known for emby to check against direct play profiles. Without it, this will always cause transcoding.

Which version of the server is this?

The problem is a server issue. Not a file or client issue.

The same exact files at the same exact locations are direct playing from my emby server running on my intel nuc to the same exact client.

Hi,

thanks for the QNAP version :)

Please, how I can set up EMBY client for WMC to play files directly ?  .. without transcoding from QNAP?

Mario

I understand the need for the Path Substitution here  but is there any idea why the resolution/vcodec/acodec is unknown to emby?
