Those guys that do that are crazy drunks because you would have to have a lot of alcohol in your system to stick your hand in a hole with who knows what is inside. But I've only ever seen a 5 or 6 pound catfish and that was pretty rare. You get Bass as much as Catfish and those are usually even smaller at around 2-3 pounds and most of the ones I've ever caught were probably no greater then a pound.
