Chorca 2
Hey everyone. Just updated to the latest (3.0.5781.0) and I'm having an issue playing back certain blu-ray folder-structure video files on the web-client. This is via HTTPS, and Chrome 46. Upon playback, the video attempts to start, transcoding commences, but the video stream never begins playback. I extracted the app command that fires up transcoding from the debug log and executed it outside of Emby to make sure it would run, and it dutifully will transcode for a long period of time, generating the proper files. It seems that there is an issue in serving and playing the files to the browser. Only certain titles are affected though, so it seems that it is more playback. Looking at the server file, it appears that it begins transcoding properly, and then receives a 'Stop' command from the player, which it obeys, killing off the transcode and deleting the files. Looking at the browser during this issue: all.js?v=3.0.5781.0:358 Requesting url without automatic networking: https://chorca.com:9001/emby/Playback/BitrateTest?Size=1000000 all.js?v=3.0.5781.0:358 Requesting url without automatic networking: https://chorca.com:9001/emby/Playback/BitrateTest?Size=2400000 all.js?v=3.0.5781.0:358 Max bitrate auto detected to 9056604 all.js?v=3.0.5781.0:358 event.trigger settingupdated all.js?v=3.0.5781.0:358 Requesting url without automatic networking: https://chorca.com:9001/emby/Items/595dd1f31d88ba9e68ce36d53e56a07c/PlaybackInfo?UserId=03fe888f24ce44b9969d88c4bf0b27c2&StartTimeTicks=0 all.js?v=3.0.5781.0:358 event.trigger beforeplaybackstart all.js?v=3.0.5781.0:358 Setting new text track index to: -1 all.js?v=3.0.5781.0:358 Media element error code: 4 all.js?v=3.0.5781.0:358 playback stopped all.js?v=3.0.5781.0:358 event.trigger playbackstop all.js?v=3.0.5781.0:358 Requesting url without automatic networking: https://chorca.com:9001/emby/Sessions/Playing/Stopped all.js?v=3.0.5781.0:358 nowplaying event: playbackstop all.js?v=3.0.5781.0:358 event.trigger websocketmessage vulcanize-out.html?v=3.0.5781.0:9388 paper-dialog: not found! all.js?v=3.0.5781.0:358 event.trigger websocketmessage It appears that the browser player experiences a playback error and halts playback. Luke 36876
The answer is that when trying to transcode bluray folder rips (or dvd), we consider this capability experimental at best. It is not going to work with every title.

Chorca 2
Did a bit more digging. It seems the stream analyzer is incorrectly analyzing the audio streams, and is calling ffmpeg with an invalid stream mapping. This is leaving the output .ts files with no audio stream, which it seems viblast player chokes on and kills the streaming. Excerpt from the generated ffmpeg command: -map 0:0 -map 0:9 -map -0:s However, the audio streams ffmpeg report do not correspond to that mapping: Duration: 02:18:02.24, start: 11.650667, bitrate: 46172 kb/s Program 1 Stream #0:0[0x1011]: Video: h264 (High) (HDMV / 0x564D4448), yuv420p, 1920x1080 [SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], 23.98 fps, 23.98 tbr, 90k tbn, 47.95 tbc Stream #0:1[0x1100]: Audio: dts (DTS-HD MA) ([134][0][0][0] / 0x0086), 48000 Hz, 6.1, fltp Stream #0:2[0x1101]: Audio: ac3 (AC-3 / 0x332D4341), 48000 Hz, 5.1(side), fltp, 448 kb/s Stream #0:3[0x1102]: Audio: ac3 (AC-3 / 0x332D4341), 48000 Hz, 5.1(side), fltp, 448 kb/s Stream #0:4[0x1103]: Audio: ac3 (AC-3 / 0x332D4341), 48000 Hz, 5.1(side), fltp, 448 kb/s Stream #0:5[0x1104]: Audio: dts (DTS) ([130][0][0][0] / 0x0082), 48000 Hz, 5.1(side), fltp, 768 kb/s Stream #0:6[0x1105]: Audio: ac3 (AC-3 / 0x332D4341), 48000 Hz, 5.1(side), fltp, 448 kb/s Stream #0:7[0x1106]: Audio: ac3 (AC-3 / 0x332D4341), 48000 Hz, stereo, fltp, 224 kb/s Stream #0:8[0x1107]: Audio: ac3 (AC-3 / 0x332D4341), 48000 Hz, stereo, fltp, 224 kb/s Stream #0:9[0x1200]: Subtitle: hdmv_pgs_subtitle ([144][0][0][0] / 0x0090), 1920x1080 Stream #0:10[0x1201]: Subtitle: hdmv_pgs_subtitle ([144][0][0][0] / 0x0090), 1920x1080 Selecting a different audio stream will enable the file to function correctly, but the stream numbering appears to be shifted. The dropdown in the audio shows stream 0:1 selected, when actually it appears that a different stream is playing. This may be another symptom of the incorrect mapping.
