App crashes when loading video

Hi,

 

I have the app install on two machines and may tablet.  One machine and the tablet work fine.  On my main machine though I've been having a problem for a few weeks that the app crashes as soon as it starts to play a video.  It doesn't matter if it's an actual show, or if it's just a background theme.  The app just closes.  I have in the past been installing the dev versions of the Win10 app on the machine with the problem.  The other machines have only used the version from the store.

Currently all machines have 3.4.4.352 installed.  I've tried multiple times to de-install and re-install the app, with no luck.

Hi Luke.

Here's the server log (did a reboot of the server, and then tried to connect from the affect Win10 app client).

Let me know if you see anything.

As I mentioned before, the Win10 app works perfectly from other machines to my server.

Sorry folks, haven't had the time to look into this, been catching up on work.

 

Just to rule things out, have you tried logging out of the app and then logging in? (Might even be worth to logout, restart,login)

Just to figure out if the app is in some strange state..

No worries!

 

I have tried logging out, and back and forth between two different users.  De-installed, re-installed.  But every time a video starts, either movie or tv, or even just the background theme then the app closes.

Argh... ;-)

And it's just on that particular machine?

Have you installed any 3rd party codec packs?

Ya, just this machine.  Other machines with the app have no problem.

I just double checked, and the only codec pack as such that is installed are LAV filters (version 0.59.1).   But they've been there since Jan 2014.

No, the machine that isn't working isn't N or KN.

 

I do however, have two machines that are N, and they do work.  I had to download the feature pack.  FYI, the Win10 Emby app gives you a link to the Win8.1 feature pack, which won't work.  You have to go look for the Win10 feature pack.
