Is this only for hdhomerun or should any m3u work ?

I tried adding my m3u but it fails, the m3u is in following format: I tried it with both TS and MKV as content for stream.

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,NRK1 HD
http://192.168.10.205:9981/stream/channelid/1055858788?ticket=AC6FA5DBE515B1A7B6DB43B3FF9D706E5547531B&profile=pass
#EXTINF:-1,NRK2 HD
http://192.168.10.205:9981/stream/channelid/589831612?ticket=64C9DF351F090519908C4EE5395F17AC66273844&profile=pass

when I try to add m3u in embyTV I get "There was an error saving the TV provider. Please ensure it is accessible and try again"

This is from the log:

it's closer to working now, however the logo=url.png is not parsed as a logo, in the channel list the full url is just listed as part of the channel name

@Luke  the channels play, but the logo part of the m3u file is not parsed correctly and url is presented as raw text rather than the logo file itself.

Same here. My m3u file slighlty diffrent. Kodi IPTV PVR Addon can play streams, shows logos, channel numbers and channel groups according to m3u file. By the way I think "tvg-logo" is the correct usage instead of "logo"

#EXTINF:300 tvg-logo="http://192.168.1.10/epg/bbc.png" group-title="News",BBC

Your are right. Below is the link that I took as a reference while building my m3u playlist:

http://xmtvplayer.com/build-m3u-file

I' m not saying that this is the standard. All I can say is this is the most extensive reference I can find with Google :) XMLTV EPG, logos, naming, parental controls, grouping etc...They have examples for every possible options.

This is the standard is seems, or at least the draft. It's rather confusing to me, sometimes they use " and sometimes they don't logo= or tvg-logo= does not seem to be part of the standard.

http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-pantos-http-live-streaming-08#section-3.3.1

first number is length of media in seconds, -1 tells the player to ignore this number, the title of the item comes after the comma.

the information our m3u files have between the length of the media and the title of the media seems to be of none standard, it's something developers put in to use in their own app. When I open my m3u in VLC it simply ignores this part.

Hi,

I just tried to set up some channels using m3u too.

I got an m3u from here and stripped out all stuff which may cause issues.

I ended up in the simple format:

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,Kabel 1
#EXTINF:-1,Pro7

and so on.
But only the first channel is shown. That first one works. but fruther channels are not listed.
Any idea why?

Greetings
Harry

got it.... Emby seems to cache the meta data somewhere (restarting the server did not help). I renamed the m3u file and now all channels are there.

However it would be great if Emby would support the same m3u formats as Kodi does.

Like the m3u file from here.

Hey - i´m trying to use a m3u Playlist for Live TV with DVBViewer.

What did you change or strip at the File?

This is a part of my channels.m3u

In Emby only the 1st Channel (HISTORY) shows up. Renaming does not working with me.

A m3u list for every single Channel would work atm - but there were 450 Channels in my list.

A DvbViewer / RecordingService plugin would be great ;)
