pagehite 0
I've got an .mp4 file. Nothing unusual about it as far as I can tell. Plays just fine on my Win10 desktop through Windows Media Player, my Android phone and Android tablet using vlc. However, the problem starts when I try to view it on Roku through emby. A few minutes into the video, the screen freezes, and then a few moments later Roku restarts as though it was seeing power for the first time. Has anybody else ever run into this? Any suggestions or insights? Thanks for your experience.
speechles 1917
Would need you to post the media info of the mp4. Does it happen everytime at the same place in the video? What model of roku is this? Which branch of the emby server software are you using: stable, beta, or dev? pagehite 0
Please forgive me, but what media info would you like? Yes, it fails at exactly the same point each time. It's a Roku 3 (but not the one just released). I'm using the stable version of the emby server software. Thanks for your assistance. With this exception, I am really enjoying the software. NeoMatrix 3
This has happened to me several times (usually from *.MP4 I've downloaded) - Only solution I found was to re-encode using handbrake and AppleTV settings has always 100% of the time fixed this. speechles 1917
@@pagehite, in the web client browse to that video, paste the media info here. The codecs, bitrates, refframes.. Etc. Paste the media info for both video and audio. With this can usually see why it isnt transcoding this video, something is out of range causing the roku to panic and spontaneously reboot. Without knowing the video/audio media info nothing can be done to help you. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

speechles 1917
http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/11137-Roku-RefFrames It is caused by the refframes being 4 when the level is 31. At the end of my post on the url above I run several tests, look which failed. We need to alter the h264 profile within capabilities.brs to transcode level31/4refframes. The way the profiles work makes this difficult. @@Luke This is a bug in the roku client when it should transcode. @@pagehite Thanks for confirm the issue.
