kenelbow 5
So I have the emby app installed on my phone and it reports taking up about 120 MB, which is fine. However, the Misc portion of my phone's storage is currently over 2GB. If I look inside Misc. there is an item named "Emby" that is over 1.3GB. What is this? Is it OK to delete? I am currently very low on space.
chef 3744
have you accidentally started to sync media to your phone? My wife did it to my tablet before, I just couldn't figure out why emby wanted so much space. My wife thought "sync" meant play.... Check the server and make sure you don't have any accidental sync tasks running. Edited August 28, 2015 by chef
kenelbow 5
I have actually intentionally tried to sync in the past, but it never properly worked for me. I have deleted all sync jobs since then, but perhaps this is leftover data from a failed sync. Can I delete this data from within the app, or should I delete is via a file manager on my phone? Solution chef 3744 Posted August 28, 2015 Solution Share Posted August 28, 2015 I think yes! The worst that is going to happen is you have to uninstall the emby client and reinstall it from google play. This seems to familiar to me, I am betting it is leftover sync tasks. You are using the Android Mobile app from the play store, right?
kenelbow 5
Yes, I am using the app from the play store. I have not problem reinstalling it if necessary, so I will just delete the files and see what happens.

kenelbow 5
Looks like all is well and I have an extra 1.3GB of space now. I haven't tried to sync again, but navigation in the UI and playback of media is fine.
