medric 5
I just noticed this weird issue.. I lost my internet for 24 hours due to cable cut down the street, however my internal network was still up i could access and watch emby on my computer thru the wmc app and over my iPhone (using old plugin really needs to be updates but that's for another time) but on my smarttv it would not let me log into emby it would load and then time out with no access to internet. everytime and i have it set up with local IP's (auto login still does not work if you have hidden user accounts) with manual login each time it starts up but while the internet was down the app would not let me in at all. chessdragon136 677
Not Emby's fault - Samsung have designed their smart hub to require internet connectivity to use apps. Sadly this one is out of my control.
TolkienBard 54
This has been one of my biggest pet peeves with the Samsung Smart Hub. I can set aside most of the irritations, but this one just gets to me. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that the television should be forced to check in with their servers in order to do things inside the local network. Heck, it shouldn't even need to talk to the Samsung servers at all except for a few of the apps. The fact that I cannot watch Emby, Netflix, Amazon, or Hulu every time their servers experience difficulties really isn't acceptable, just as requiring the television to see the outside in order to play internal content is just hair-brained.
chessdragon136 677
Its a licensing issue unfortunately.
CBers 6769
It's not just the Samsung TVs, see my link above.
