NANO SHELL 13 Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 Hi, Since the Android update a few days ago with the new VLC player thing I have been unable to access Emby outside my network either via Android app or app.emby.media. I can log in, but when I select my server it comes up with the message: "Connection Failure" "We're unable to connect to the selected server right now. Please Ensure it is Running and try again." I have no antivirus or defender blocking it as it usually works fine, I can still remote into my PC via TeamViewer so internet is no issue. EMBY SERVER v3.0.5675.1 EMBY FOR ANDROID v2.3.80 Also as a side note, I still need help with another topic I posted about a few days ago. http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/23539-transcoding-issue/ Thanks SERVER 25-07-15 .txt
Luke 38839 Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 If it's happening from app.emby.media then it doesn't have anything to do with the android app update. It looks like your server is unable to reach emby connect for whatever reason: Application Path: C:\Users\NANO-SHELL\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\System\MediaBrowser.ServerApplication.exe The remote name could not be resolved: 'connect.mediabrowser.tv' System.Net.WebException Do you have a custom dns or some kind of proxy setup? Anyway, without Emby Connect, you will need to enter your ip address manually when using the android app or app.emby.media. 1
Happy2Play 9140 Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 It looks like a network issue on that machine. Or starts out with a network issue then resolves it self. Is the server starting before your network? 169.254.89.93 Value cannot be null. Parameter name: ipString 1
NANO SHELL 13 Posted July 25, 2015 Author Posted July 25, 2015 Fixed it. I'm just an idiot is all haha. My Local Access changed from http://192.168.0.9:8096 to http://192.168.0.2:8096, So I just had to adjust my Port Forwarding rule accordingly. Cheers for the help.
Happy2Play 9140 Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 You should probably look at assigning a static ip or ip reservation in your router.
