cw-kid 192
Hi It appears that all my .AVI (XVID) movies do not show a correct media flag in Kodi on the Movie info pages. Kodi Helix v14 (Xperience1080 Skin) on Windows 7 with the Emby add-on v1.1.16 Kodi Helix v14 (Xperience1080 Skin) on OpenElec with MYSQL Database As you can see for the same movie file, on the Kodi PC still using MYSQL the XVID flag is displayed fine. Also note the aspect ratio is being reported differently on each system, for this 3:10 to Yuma title. Another thing I have noticed is that for some of my .MP4 Movie files in the MYSQL setup they are reported as AVC1 but in Emby setup they are simply reported as H.264 Kodi Helix v14 (Xperience1080 Skin) on Windows 7 with the Emby add-on v1.1.16 Kodi Helix v14 (Xperience1080 Skin) on OpenElec with MYSQL Database And with .M4V movie files no flag is shown in Emby / Kodi Kodi Helix v14 (Xperience1080 Skin) on Windows 7 with the Emby add-on v1.1.16 Kodi Helix v14 (Xperience1080 Skin) on OpenElec with MYSQL Database Also note other flags are different for this particular title, 480p vs 576p and AAC vs Dolby Many thanks

cw-kid 192
Whatever is the default option in the Emby add-on, presumably plug-in paths.
cw-kid 192
"Use Local Paths instead of addon redirect for playback" is NOT turned on in the add-on settings.
cw-kid 192
Here's another one, this title is an .MKV Kodi Helix v14 (Xperience1080 Skin) on Windows 7 with the Emby add-on v1.1.16 Kodi Helix v14 (Xperience1080 Skin) on OpenElec with MYSQL Database Emby / Kodi is showing a Dolby flag, and Kodi / MYSQL is showing the correct DTS flag. Seems to be lots of little issues with the media flags in Emby / Kodi. Thanks.
Angelblue05 4130
The media flag that was added is only for mediaflags that are contained in the filename. If the filename contains bluray, then Kodi will display bluray, over the video codec, etc. We import the way it's detected in Emby. Can you capture and post the media info for the titles stated above? You can find it the webclient, view the specific content and scroll at the bottom. It should be below the cast. Thanks, it should give us more information. Edited July 22, 2015 by Angelblue05

cw-kid 192
I don't have "blu-ray" in the names of my .MKV files. I will look at the Emby web GUI and post up some screen shots of the media info sections, for the above titles. Thanks..
cw-kid 192
Title 1: 3:10 to Yuma Emby Web GUI: MediaInfo app: XVID is listed as the CODEC ID. In Kodi with the Emby add-on no XVID media flag is displayed, yet in the native Kodi / MYSQL it displays XVID media flag OK. Also you can see the aspect ratio reported by MediaInfo is 2.40:1 and in native Kodi / MYSQL it displays a media flag as 2.40:1 yet in Kodi with the Emby add-on it shows 2.35:1 instead. Title 2: 47 Ronin Emby Web GUI: Emby reports the video codec as H264 MediaInfo app: In MediaInfo its AVC, in native Kodi / MYSQL the media flag is shown as AVC1 in Kodi with Emby add-on the media flag is H.264. Title 3: 21 Grams Emby Web GUI: EDIT: Also looks like that problem still exists with what did @@Luke say? The embedded thumbnail image being detected as a video stream? Emby Server is version 3.0.5675.1 for Windows. MediaInfo app: The video codec is shown in MediaInfo as AVC and in native Kodi / MYSQL the media flag displayed is AVC1. Yet in Kodi with the Emby add-on no media flag at all is displayed for this title. Note there are two 2 audio streams in this file, actually in this instance it seems Kodi with the Emby add-on has got it correct and shows an AAC media flag for the first audio track and native Kodi / MYSQL is showing a Dolby media flag instead for the second audio track. You can also see its listed as 720x576. In native Kodi / MYSQL the media flag is 576P yet in Kodi with the Emby add-on its listed as 480P. Title 4: A.I. Artificial Intelligence Emby Web GUI: In Chrome browser - Unable to find this title in the Emby Web GUI or in Kodi movie library view, its not listed alphabetically and the search in the web GUI is not working as it takes me to the login page after doing the search and does not display any search results. And clicking the search icon in Internet Explorer doesn't seem to do anything or bring up the search text box. EDIT: Found it eventually: MediaInfo app: For this A.I. title it looks like Emby is incorrectly reporting the secondary audio track first which is AC3. In Kodi with the Emby add-on it was showing a Dolby media flag. When I think it should be showing a DTS media flag for the primary audio track etc, which is what happens OK in native Kodi / MYSQL. Actually it seems both systems are a bit hit and miss with files with two audio tracks and as to which media flag icon gets displayed in Kodi, either for the primary or secondary audio track. Angelblue05 4130
Just as I thought, this post is really something that should be redirected to the server. We take the information from Emby, so if Emby has incorrect or incomplete information, it is not a problem with the add-on, but with Emby server and how it detects the media info. @@Luke is it something that will be adjusted? Or what can we do to get the complete media info? Edited July 22, 2015 by Angelblue05

cw-kid 192
Regarding not being able to find A.I. Artificial Intelligence in the movies view in the web GUI, I instead went to movie genres then science fiction and then scrolled through all the movies, eventually I found A.I. Artificial Intelligence listed in with the titles beginning with I Looks like Emby doesn't like the A. before the I in the name "A.I. Artificial Intelligence" as far as the alphabetical sorting is concerned.
cw-kid 192
Here is another example .AVI file with media flag issues. This problem is widespread and affecting many titles when comparing the native Kodi system against the Emby / Kodi system etc. Title 5: 25th Hour Kodi Helix v14 (Xperience1080 Skin) on Windows 7 with the Emby add-on v1.1.16 Kodi Helix v14 (Confluence Skin) on Windows 7 with the Emby add-on v1.1.16 Kodi Helix v14 (Xperience1080 Skin) on OpenElec with MYSQL Database In Emby / Kodi the XVID icon is missing again this seems to be the case for all my AVI files and the aspect ratio is different. Luke 36878
What exactly is the problem as it relates to strictly the server? You guys may need to take the raw media info that you get from the server and adjust it when you import into the Kodi database. For Mpeg4/Xvid, what you can probably do though is just assume that all MPEG4 is Xvid and massage the data as you import it. Given how common xvid is, there's a pretty good chance that will be the case, and since it's only for display it's not going to harm anything. cw-kid 192
Just an update @@Angelblue05 and I have been working on this together and testing and he has re-coded the Emby Kodi add-on to now display the correct media flags for the more common Video file formats and containers. So this should be all sorted in his next beta release! Edited July 28, 2015 by cw-kid
cw-kid 192
Tested video files formats and containers were: AVI FourCC Description Code / FourCC Used Codec xvid / XVID (MPEG4 Advanced Simple Profile & MPEG4 Simple Profile) - Shows XVID media flag xvid / XVID (MPEG4) No profile - Shows XVID media flag div3 / DIV3 (MSMPEG4) - Shows DIVX media flag divx / MP43 (MSMPEG4) - Shows DIVX media flag divx / DX50 (MPEG4 Advanced Simple Profile & MPEG4 Simple Profile) - Shows XVID media flag Note: Seems both native Kodi and Kodi / Emby show XVID rather than DIVX for DX50. MP4 H264 High - Shows as AVC1 media flag was previously showing H.264 H264 Main - Shows as AVC1 media flag was previously showing H.264 M4V H264 Main - Shows as AVC1 media flag was previously showing H.264 MOV H264 Main - Shows as AVC1 media flag was previously showing H.264 MKV H264 High - Shows H.264 media flag Note: I think we also corrected an issue where for some MKV titles the audio flag was showing the audio type for the secondary audio track rather than the primary audio track, further testing needed to determine. DVD VIDEO_TS Rips MPEG2VIDEO MAIN - Shows MPG2 media flag FLASH .FLV H264 Main - Shows H.264 media flag Blu-ray ISO Rips Currently have issues with missing media type flags and some of the aspects are different to native Kodi like 4:3 instead of 16:9 @@Luke I can also confirm that the bug with .MOV and .M4V files and where the embedded images were being detected as a secondary video stream in the Emby Server Media Info has been fixed as you said it would be. After refreshing these affected titles in the metadata manager they now show this MJPEG as "Embedded Image" and not as "Video". This bug was also affecting media flags in Kodi and making incorrect ones be displayed. @@Angelblue05 Please can you move this thread back to the Kodi add-on forum area, thanks. If anyone else is using other video files types and notice incorrect or missing media flags being display in Kodi, please let us know.
