Iorifly 15
Dear, Recently I formatted my server to install windows 8.1, so far so good. I installed my Emby set up my units, all ok. Now I'm trying to again use Emby addon, however I can not play back any content. I set at the time my Emby addon for direct player, however many changes occurred in the addon do not know if something is missing in the configuration. I see the details of the film that is not direct path. After installing the new server Emby, I went to the addon reseted the database and changed the name of User. Connected downloaded the information but not reprouz. I will post the log and print of how this addon. my log http://pastebin.com/8hFqZaaQ Mac mini Helix 14.2 Server emby windows 8.

xnappo 1593
Yes - just to reenforce what @ is saying - you have a network config problem. The addon can't connect to your network during the sync, and therefore sets up the files to stream in mp4 format instead. You need to fix your network access. Iorifly 15
Let me understand ... What needs access to the file? The kodi? For the shared drives are on the same machine Emby the server. I do not know what else to do to kodi have access to the file. I can already see the shared folders on the server through my mini mac.
xnappo 1593
Post a log then. It is strange - usually on the same machine this type of issue does not occur. You don't accidentally have 'play from http instead of SMB' selected do you? xnappo
Iorifly 15
@@xnappo, To be more clear. Iorifly 15
It really looks like a network problem. I do not have access to servidorNAS (windows8.1) by kodi. I will check.

ProphetSe7en 15
I had the same problem. The problem were under library-->Folders in Emby Server. Perhaps you have made the same mistake I did when adding folders to library? How are Media Location set up? Basically my problem was: When adding movies/TV shows to Emby server I added them with direct path like this: d:\shares\movies. When changing this to \\server\shares\movies it worked. Just do a library update in Emby, and then make a reset db in kodi.
Iorifly 15
@, It was just that! I was putting the unit directly! "d: \ movies" solved by following the network path. \\servidornas\filmes\

ProphetSe7en 15
Why not jut make Emby change the path automatically? When browsing for folder it always shows up as d:\folder. When adding a folder I got 3 choices: c: d: Network Only when going through Network I get the correct path \\server For me the logical way to add a folder is by direct path, so I choose d:
Vidman 589
It is not most logical if you think about how clients will access the media. The preferred/recommended method is explained on the help page
xnappo 1593
I actually agree. Emby shouldn't let you specify non-network paths. It is pretty pointless. At least it should make it harder.
Angelblue05 4130
It's weird because I have my server and kodi on the same machine and local or network share both work correctly for me. However if I was to attempt to run Kodi on a different machine, it will fail without the network path. I just don't understand why local path does not always work for same device scenario.... im85288 1493
Local paths are evil and not needed when setting up the server on windows. On OS X/Linux things get trickier, but really for windows it should be the only allowed way to set things up.
xnappo 1593
Causes more problens. Shouldn't be blocked, but the server should warn the config will not work for remote clients and ask for an acknowledgment. I have spent at least an hour over the last year debugging this for users. Needs something.
