Hitman36 0
Hi, Can someone help me to setup lav for MKV playback in WMC/emby, currenty I've installed the latest LAV codecs for x86/64 but playing the .mkv movie does nothing but change to playing mode but stuck at zero. (previously used sharks codecs for mkv but want a minimum install this time) I found the setup suggestion page on here that has the following link, but get page cannot be displayed and looks like thehtpc.net is down for me? link... http://www.thehtpc.net/htpc-tips-and-tweaks/media-center-lav-filters-and-external-subtitles/ Edited June 13, 2015 by Hitman36

Crestj 67
That link seems offline again. I remember seeing a wiki page or something on this forum about the perfect, minimal codec setup for Emby for WMC. I'd like to use the LAV one but I guess the HTPC guy never got the page back online. Anyone know where we can get this info from now? Edited June 25, 2015 by Crestj
MrLinford 54
I use Shark007 Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
Crestj 67
Yeah I use that currently but the setup is too flaky to get just right and wanted a much simpler setup.

Crestj 67
I thought the LAV solution was cleaner and more efficient. Maybe just use the FFDShow solution then.
CBers 6771
The FFDSHOW solution does work - I used it when I used MBC and @@Cheesegeezer, the original author of the guide, swears by it

Crestj 67
With complex installation procedures like that I think I'll just have to wait for the Wiki article !!!! BTW, I presume it's these: https://code.google.com/p/lavfilters/ There aren't different flavours? Edited June 26, 2015 by Crestj

Crestj 67
Yeah that's what I used in the end. Just the issue with having to deselect ac3 to get proper 5.1 sound in the config and it's all good. So glad I don't have the codec pack headache to do! Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
