Erratic behavior in Safari on IOS

I just wanted to share this experience, maybe someone recognizes this or maybe a developer will know what is going on:

 

After a fresh install of the Emby server on a Windows 7 machine I tested the webclient on my Android tablet. I used chrome and all was working well. Next I tried Safari on a iPad Air with IOS 8.3. The interface was loading alright but none of the media files would play. The black screen with the white play button was showing but nothing happened. Pressing the play button showed a quick flashing of the screen but no playback.

 

I tried all kind of things, like restarting the server, restarting the iPad, nothing worked. Then I tried the web client on the Chrome browser on the iPad and all suddenly was well. Next I tried Safari again and now it worked also! I rebooted the iPad and tried Safari again and it still worked. Playback has been working since.

 

I really don't know what was going on. All is well right now but this leaves me wondering what was wrong in the first place.
