wbennett77 0
Hey, Just installed FreeNAS and then Emby. I am not sure how I get my media files into a recognized Emby folder. Newbie here looking for help. Edited May 17, 2015 by wbennett77
josh4trunks 70
I recommend you have all your media files in a dataset. (e.g. tank/media) Then you mount this dataset into emby's jail. (e.g. /mnt/tank/media > /mnt/media) Then you point emby at the location you mounted your media (e.g. /mnt/media/videos/movies)

josh4trunks 70
Thanks for your response josh4 trunks, The truth is that I don't know how to accomplish this. I am newbie extreme with this kind of stuff. there are videos on YouTube that show how to accomplish this, and the first two steps I list are covered in the freenas manual. I'm also planning on making a video+guide on setting this up, but that probably won't be for a few months.
pclausen 41
wbennett, these pics might help. Here's my Windows share: Groups settings: Volumes: Permissions on media datastore: And the mounting from the Emby jail: I'm very new to this myself, but the above settings were working for me. I say were, because I blew out the volume/datastore to run badblocks and add additional VDevs before I put my system into production. I took the above screenshots so that I can easily recreated things the way I had them before, when I'm ready.
