Emby library updates

I'm using Sonarr to notify Emby Server of new releases and force a library refresh. New files are showing up in the Web client immediately but Emby isn't updating. Using Kodi's built in library update function doesn't seem to work when using the addon.

How do I get updates on the server to push to the Emby client? I would like to avoid having to close and reopen Kodi to get a refresh.

Sounds like something isn't working properly.  You are on the latest version?  You will need to recreate the situation and post a log.

You can force an update through the Video-AddOns-Emby-Force scan - but you shouldn't need to.  You might look in your log right now and see if there are errors.

Confirmed that the episode appeared in the web client and the dashboard showed the notification. Emby in Kodi hasn't updated to include the episode though.

Hey Bishop, the snippet of the log you posted doesn't show anything relevant to helping solve this issue. Can you post the entire log (that is attach the file to your post). Thanks :)

Howdy, sorry about that. It was around the same time so I figured it may be the only relevant piece.

Attached is the log file

On my dashboard it says that it hasn't seen Kodi in 50 minutes, which is when I originally opened Kodi.

Can you try to update to the latest version of Emby for Kodi? It seems you are still on 0.1.0 when we are now 0.1.81. There's a good chance this was resolved already. There's been a lot of modifications that affect your database so start from scratch by resetting your local kodi database via addon settings. Let us know if you are still having the issue then. Thanks! :)

I was using 0.1.81. The inability to update might have something to do with the server crashing on my computer every time something regarding the library happens.

I'm going to troubleshoot that end of things and reevaluate this post after resolving that. Thank you for the help so far.

I just wanted to post and say that now that I'm running a different kernel (that mono is stable on) this issue is resolved. Updates aren't instant and I wasn't focused on Kodi but when I went back new episodes were there.

I'm finding that this functionality is kind of flaky. I upgraded my system to the latest stable kernel (3.0.16-40) and the mono test ran for several hours without crashing.

Emby and Sonarr are both stable. E4K is running great on a Kodi player but episodes are not being added from Sonarr/Emby Server. I see the episodes in the web browser but they aren't being added to Kodi.

Are there any known issues about this or is there a way to easily perform only an incremental scan? It worked for a few episodes and then dropped out completely.

We need a debug log.  You can do a manual scan from Emby, but if it isn't updating automatically that means that the websocket that communicates additions to the library is having issues.  It isn't a scan - it is messages from the server any time a change occurs.

OT, but how? Are you using their MediaBrowser metadata integration? I've been using Sonarr for ages and never use it as it does nothing that Emby doesn't have already.

Kodi should still get the updates though.

@@xnappo Log is attached. It looks like some episodes automatically added overnight but episodes 8-11 of the season didn't get added.

@@CBers Yeah. You have to generate an API key on Emby server and then fill out the data for the Sonarr integration. It updates the library with the new content without a full refresh.

Oh yes, via Sonarr connect.

It always seemed a bit of overkill to me, seeing as Emby monitors my folders already and automatically fetches metadata etc.

Thanks though.
