Hi,

last few weeks I'm experimenting with Emby. I have with your help successfully connected my LG WebOS TV with Emby. I can play movies with subtiles. But I have one specific problem. After some time two events happened. Sometimes Emby crash, I posted logs, and created issue on GitHub (https://github.com/MediaBrowser/MediaBrowser/issues/1093), but so far no one answered. And In other case, Emby server is still running, but DLNA function "stop transmitting". Emby disappear from TV.  I have checked it with Kodi too. Emby is not visible on my LAN. As I wrote before, Emby process is still runnig. 

 

Because you need logs, I'm running Emby with this command on Debian Jessie:

sudo -u mediabrowser mono --trace=N:MediaBrowser --debug MediaBrowser.Server.Mono.exe -programdata /var/lib/mediabrowser | tee -a /tmp/mediabrowser-$(date +%F-%H%M%S).txt

I think the issue is if your network connection drops (or perhaps idles & sleeps??), then Emby server will stop broadcasting to clients and as a result clients wont' see the server anymore. I have seen this with Windows. We'll try to get it resolved soon.

Hi,

probably not. I'm still connected to the server over SSH and screen from my laptop, when this happens. Connection was not interrupted. TV is connected over Gbps ethernet switch to my NAS (Debian), and laptop is connected over Wifi.

 

I'm try to explain it. Emby stop broadcasting DLNA messages on network (it disappear), even when I watch movie and movie is not interrupted. After the movie is finished, I can't see Emby on discovered devices. It disappear even when I don't play any movie.

Do you have "Blast alive message" checked?  If not I would try that option.

I think I have a fix for this although it will have to wait until the next release. A new beta went out today, and this is too risky to add into the stable release. It will be in the following stable release.

How I can switch from stable releases to beta on Linux ? It is enough change in Dashboard > Advanced > Updates from Official Relase to Beta ?  Emby will self update, or I need to use beta apt repository ?

No, we don't currently publish betas for linux. you'd have to build from source

Hi, I have updated kernel to 4.1rc3 and updated emby dev from github to version Version 3.0.5611.12305.

It seems to be stable, so far 2h29min uptime without crash or disappearing Emby from TV

edit1: I have tried latest stable version from apt repository Version 3.0.5607.2, and it seems to be stable too.

Probably all problems was caused by mentioned bug in kernel.
