Does it work as simple as that with dvbviewer? That makes my tbs 6984 a network tuner.. If it does this is a big deal for me!!!!

The best solution today MBS + Kodi + DVBViewer PVR client addon for Kodi + 1080XF MediaBrowser Edition (Helix Only)  support Logo, EPG, CPU 10...30%. The image quality is good

EmbyTV a livetv client for Network Tuners (HDHomerun at the moment) + Regservice (DVBViewer) - works, but,  no support Logo, EPG, CPU 50..100%

Videobookmarks (IP-TV) +Regservice (DVBViewer) - works, but,  no support Logo, EPG, CPU 50..100%

@@jose, I think I may have figured out my issue. I think it is related to the CPU and ffmpeg. If I try streaming with the processor maxed out it fails.

I am running 2 HDHR3-CC.

I think this is the error. Sorry about all the other stuff that may be in it. The kids are watching stuff in the other room's

@@denethor was this effective with dvbviewer? I'm crossing my fingers!!

Yes and No. If you set your RTSP channel list xml file properly this add-on can list and stream your channels. But there are some basic staff missing; guide, channel names with spaces etc. Also transcoded streaming is not reliable -actually not working- with CAM/CI. Only FTA channels supported.

Like @@Nikolaech said best setup is using Kodi add-on for DVBviewer backends. Which means no support for mobile/remote clients.

Cheers for that, I've got a seperate mobile app anyway for dvbviewer. Might give it a try.

I think I noticed something tonight and why I might be having a lot of errors on recording and stuff failing to close properly. One of my shows finished recording and when it did I had 3 other shows recording at the same time. When that show finished and closed out it looks like maybe it killed the FFMPEG process(s) and stopped all streams. I will try to reproduce with debug logs turned on. I am also running the latest version, which at this time is, 0.10.2.0. I will keep testing but would love some feed back so I'm not losing my mind or so that I know I'm not testing for nothing.

I just tried to use the Live TV feed via the Emby app on Roku today. When I select the channel and hit play the app crashes and closes. I am not sure if you have tried this yet or not but I wanted to let you know.

It also looks like firing up mutliple tuner's at once kills the ffmpeg process. Again sorry no logs but the system is actively used.

What Follows is how and what I did to test:

Enabled Debug mode

Disabled start up task

Opened three Incognito windows in Google Chrome

Had one Normal windows open in Google Chrome

Restart server

Refreshed TV guide (14 day refresh for 255) Channels

Scan was still running
Opened a stream in 1st incognito mode

Did not even make it a minute before streamed died.

Stopped server.

Captured log's.

Server log is attached in a zip as it is to be to use paste2 or attach it directly

I will wait to hear back on what you find on this before I test more. Thanks @@jose and team for the work you do.

Ok I Lied. With the server started back up and still in debug mode I waited for my 9:00 PM recording to come on. At the time it did not kick off. turned off debug mode and shutdown the server.

Edit:

I have re enabled my normal scheduled task.

HOLD FOR NOW...I updated the firmware on my tuners and looks like I made it further.  It is populating guide data now.  I'll report back.

Trying to get this up and running.  I am able to add my tuners...

However, I am seeing no Tuners and that 404 error on the main LiveTV page:

I may have noticed another issue with this. I had two shows set to record back to back on the same channel and it looks like it failed to start recording the second show. After I hear back on some of the other issue's I will do more testing but wanted to post this and see if anyone else has had this issue.

I dont know what i can do about this. I dont use ffmpeg at all , the server is the one that decides if it need to use it when you ask a stream for it, for recordings it is not used and saved in the original format.

As an update to my last post, the latest Roku app update seems to have solved the issue with Live TV crashing the app.

OMG, how did I just noticed this plugin? Awesome work, Jose! This is epic!

Unfortunately, I'm having problems getting my Schedules Direct to download. I keep getting an Error 400 Bad Request from SD when EmbyTV tries to update. Looks like it gets a token, but there's something about the request that SD doesn't like.

Unfortunately debug logging doesn't add any clarity to the request and I can't Wireshark it because it's HTTPS.

Are you still having an issue? There was a hung process server-side which I reset this morning. Can you check if you're still having the issue, and if not, please let me know. Thanks.

Thanks to rkulagow and SD for awesome, proactive support!

He found that there was a hung process on SD's side and my lineup was not being added.

I think I'd only have 1 suggestion on the EmbyTV side however -- after the hung process was corrected, EmbyTV still wouldn't pull down data until I manually added the lineup via SD's 20141201 API. It looks like EmbyTV detected the "No lineups on account" but continued to try to pull the lineup. I think when this condition is detected via the 2101 error (to the request for the specific lineup) or the 4102 response (to the lineups list request), it should go ahead and do the PUT operation again to add it.

Here you can see it trying to fetch the specific lineup even though it identified there are no lineups on the previous request:

i am willing to work with it but 1 i dont have one so i cant test it and two i dont have any documentation on how to obtain the device stream. If anyone could provide some documentatiom then development on it could start, the same for other network services and iptv providers if documentation is provided some support could be added

You mentioned being willing to work this if provided the documentation to begin the development.  Ceton support can likely give you the documentation about how they issue the stream.  They have a similar network based tuner to Silicondust and I'm sure the stream delivery method is likely similar and based on some IEEE standard somewhere.  Silicondust is doing their own DVR software that will be form fitted for their particular brand of tuners.  It would be most helpful to the community at large if you guys (Emby) could do the same for the broader base of all hardware tuners similar to how Windows Media Center was already in the business of doing.  Most of us cablecard tuner owners are concerned about this because Microsoft has said they are no longer delivering or supporting WMC in future releases starting with Windows 10.  We cable card users are now looking for the next software platform that cable card tuners can be supported in, whether that be Emby, JRiver, Kodi, Plex or whoever is willing to step up to the plate.

Incredible plugin, thank you Jose for all your hard work.

I was wondering if anyone has advice for the best transcoder settings.  I only set this up today and noticed that turning off throttling (I had it on when I was trying to figure out why I had transmission problems the first time I set up the Emby plugin for FreeNAS, but those issues were all self-inflicted and had nothing to do with Emby) helped the picture.

I have both HDHR Extend and Connect models but have Emby set to access only the Extend.  Right now I have the transcode settings on the HDHR Extend set on Heavy since switching to mobile didn't seem to help picture quality (but this was before I turned off throttling).  Is there any sense in turning off transcoding on the Extend and allowing Emby to do all the transcoding on my FreeNAS box?  I kind of doubt that would help at all; right now there is only a very slight lag when there is movement on screen.

The picture quality is actually pretty good, just wondering if there are any tweaks that might optimize things.

Will try recording tonight.

Another question -- I recorded two shows to see how it would work and like the way the recordings are displayed; quality was excellent.

But the files were labelled in an odd way and they did not make it to the folder I assigned -- I think that was my issue not setting permissions correctly in my plugin jail, though.  What is the naming convention?  Will we be able to use MCEBuddy (or similar) to rename shows? -- I would then move them to Recorded TV and consume from there.

It's not a big deal since the way the shows are listed after recording is fine, but I would like to strip out the commercials.
