MediaServer not updating new episodes

r0bot

Recommended Posts

Version 3.0.5572.0

Noticed it started a few days ago, seems to be related to update of the MediaServer server side software.

New shows are showing in the Latest section, but have no metadata. TV Series dont list new missing episodes either for shows that have played in the past few days since issue arrose.

Cleared log, started mediaserver and ran a fresh library update in the attached log. Please someone help, this is an annoying issue.

Try removing your tv folder(s) from the tv library and then re-add them and let the library update. Worked for me on a similar issue.

Luke, 1 example I have is the latest episode of "The Amazing Race". On my Latest screen it shows (1) unwatched. If i click that link it takes me to the episode but with no information. And if I go to the show through the Shows menu the latest season (26) shows (1) unwatched but it has it as the first epiosde ( in grid view) with no episode number, and still says S26E05 is missing. Screenshows should explan a little better I hope.

capture the example as it happens, so we can see in the log what happens. and make note of what files you imported into your library as part of this process.

Luke, I will update if it happens with any more episodes I notice when importing. I imported a few new shows today and no issues.

Luke, the issue re-occured. Issue with file name "The.Last.Man.On.Earth.S01E10.720p.HDTV.x264-IMMERSE.mkv".

Attached new log (zipped because it was 11.5MB),

Looking at the log i can see it detects change and then reports:

Have same issue.

Added 4 new episodes of THe Big bang theory and whole 2nd season of under The Dome. None of the episodes were recognised, not even a season for UTD. I had to use Refresh for it to finally download the covers for season, but that did not help with EMBY (why the hell new name?) not recognising episodes. I had to go and manualy add season and episode number for every episode (tried refresh of series, season and library rescan).

My naming scheme is same as it was before.

For TBBT its: Big Bang Theory S08E14 - name.mkv

For UtD its: 12 - name.avi

Both worked well untill the last update (I think, I was not downloading series for 2 months or so).

I can't really provide you with logs now, but I might download new series or new season and see if it will work. If not, Ill post an log here.

Its extremly annoying, as it shows unrecognised episodes at the start, so I had like 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 1, 2, 3, 4 ....... in TBBT/8 folder...

I just had this EXACT issue, with almost every episode in my library.

One moment they're all perfectly happy with metadata, next the metadata is just, gone..

A refresh later and it's all back in order.

I have the same problem with new content coming. it will be missing the season and episode info as if metadata was somehow skipped. Its hard to reproduce since the problem only happens on auto scrapping and not manual scrapping. Also hard to catch because you would have to monitor every episode that comes in and when you have this automated, your not watching for when new content is add. I just noticed good wife has had 2 eps like that for the pass 2 weeks and i didnnt notice till i decided to watch it.

***Edit***

After further examination i can say that Emby seems to have fucked up my static content as well

***Edit 2 ***

I updated to the new beta build  3.0.5582.2 today so i will force refresh on my tv show root to fix all the bad eps and try to monitor the situation more closely

MiChAeLoKGB's issue was resolved in the stable release that just went out.

If you have other applications that write to the nfo files in your folders, try turning them off for a while to see if the issue persists.

If its already out, then I can tell you it is not fixed. I downloaded 1 Season of blacklist, none of the episodes has any metadata, after clicking refresh metadata were created, but there is nothing except date added. Still no season and episode numbers.

what you reported is fixed. It could be something else. Please see http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/790-how-to-report-a-problem/

I know about that and I reported a problem. Its the exactly same thing I was reporting before. It does not know what the season and episode numbers are... You got the logs, you got the screens, happened with 2 series, you told its fixed, so I tried downloading another one and it does not work...

The issue of language being set to SK and causing a 404 with the tvdb is resolved. Since you're still having an issue, now we start over again, But it is not the same.

yours is most likely unrelated.

i think the problem is you guys are seeing episodes without info and looking for help, but we need to learn more about when it is happening. for the episodes that don't have metadata, there's nothing that can be done other than refreshing. the important thing is to capture it the next time it happens so that we can learn something.
