I responded to the exact same post you made in the FR topic.  Sorry, didn't feel it was necessary to cross-post it here.

I also think people will gladly take any performanse issues over the lack of the hide option...

Navigating Emby is a pain in the ass right now.

So much im starting to avoid using emby alltogether and play my files straight from windows explorer.

Maybe i should look for alternatives to Emby iff this issue is not going to be resolved in the near future.

Or better....

Please Please Please give me the option to enable it again until its up and running on server side.

While I agree that this is sorely missed, I used to run for years a script that would hide folders below 100MB, using Windows tasker. I think I set it to run every 10 minutes or so and it would hide/unhide all the folders based on size. It worked well. Just google hide empty folders. It is a decent workaround while we wait for a real solution. I agree that navigating Emby with all the empty folders makes you want to just shutdown the app and go do something else...

Your right crossposting aint necessary.

Yes you did respond but you can hardly call it feedback...

I'll recap the unanswerd questions here...

- Did you just recently remove it all the way or was it some setting on my side?

- Is there still a way to manualy enable it? If so How?

- Is there a way to roll back or download a previous version?

If it realy causes "horrible" performance  why not:

-Leave the option (until server function) with default = OFF (so people can choose between performance or a functional Emby)

Hope to see some real answers soon!

Zombieagain summed it up nice in the other topic:

I see it was confirmed mid april this option wil be implemented.

Could we get some feedback on why its not, or an ETA?

Maybe if we know whats the problem someone will have the answer or point in the right direction to come up with a solotion.

Lets make it happen ASAP!

this option still works for me and im the latest version

i did notice last week that the option disappeared after an update but that was because legacy browsing options had been reset to off.

have you tried going into wmc / emby / config menu / config / tab right to legacy browsing and tick the "use legacy folder browsing" option

Thanks for the tip!

Now the empty forlders are indeed hidden.

But at the startscreen it also ads the folders i dont want there. Also i can not edit the list sequence.

You can immagine I'd rather not have the Porn folder show up on first glance right in the middle of the screen just above TV shows butt rather have in on the bottom of the list,  (Subdued theme/detail view)

Butt for now it will have to do.... with all the empty folders visable emby is un-usable

So again... Thnx!

I also would like this. Hide empty folders.

It's a Must!

should be first priority for developers....

Shame we don't get any feedback.

The funny thing is that it seems it only shows empty folders for TV shows and not movies. It should be the other way around.

It should show empty folders for movies, I explain why. I wanted to watch special features for a movie. I created an empty folder with the name of the movie

and created an extras folder inside and puts files in it. Because the movie folder is empty, it does not pickup the movie and it's extras.

No longer working for me too. Please make it optional.

For now I have my powershell scripts running again to hide empty folders.

I got bit by this during an update today. Really annoyed to lose the option to hide empty folders.

Please add it back. Server side seems like the right way to do it, so I'm all for that. Please!

Me too, I loved this feature and I believe I was one of the original people that asked for this back in MB2 when it was added as a plugin. Would really like to see it added again as an option in the server.

Thanks for all of the hard work to the developers. I know you're constantly working to make Emby better and better.

Any chance you could share these?

Will it also unhide once content is detected?

Kodi has an option to do this itself. I don't use MBC no longer now.

Not sure how this is coded in... but instead of electively hiding folders after library scabs identify them as empty doesn't feel like the best way to accomplish this.

Shouldn't there be options either in the advanced tab for libraries or in a new tab under the auto-organize section that will delete folders in specified libraries if they're found to be empty. Kind of like "delete empty folders after organizing" only this would take place during library scans. This would also be a good place for admins to choose to delete watched content from specified libraries.

(Edit, added later) deleting actual content, video/audio files, it might be nice for those to not be deleted instantly. If selected by the admin, items that should be deleted would enter a "queued for deletion" list that could be processed one at a time or as a bulk. And only users with both admin and deletion capabilities would have access to these features.

Another thought, would people use this? Or do you all mostly use the delete button that's available in the item's details screen. I'm suggesting these changes for others. I delete nothing.

Ugh, no. The point is that we're deleting episodes not the whole folder. If you're in between seasons, for instance, and delete the whole folder, Emby wont auto-organize when the next season starts back up.
