Well I guess the logs say it all, huh?

So this theme.mp4 was "SexyBeast" and that is the only one there.   So is this a default one if one cannot be found?  I deleted it and now I just have a regular picture backdrop for the affected movies.  Does that mean there aren't any movie backdrops for the movies that I am looking at?

So, as I'm sure you're all aware, time has been very limited for me for a good while now and I've been wanting to get on with some development of these lovely plugins for some time.

 

The main part that has always frustrated me and others is the upload of naff themes that just don't fit the spec of a theme video, so, I've started working on it!

 

Now, whilst not a complete solution to the issue, I have implemented a lot server side in preparation for the plugin changes, but this has also enabled me in the short term to give you, the users, the control and "report" themes which will be flagged as unfit for purpose and take them out of distribution immediately. This will then enable the upload of new themes to the server which will hopefully be the right ones!

 

Just simply go to http://www.ballingtons.com/report, select the theme type, TV or Movie, enter the Name and corresponding TVDBID or TMDBID and hit submit and the job should be a good'un! 

 

I would always recommend having a correct theme in place and ready to upload when using this if you can.

 

I'd say the ideal would be to get the correct theme, put it in place, run a full library scan to make sure emby know's it's there, delete the downloaded theme filter from the theme video plugin, use the above page to remove the crap one, then hit the upload theme videos scheduled task and your new theme will be put into place.  

 

Like I say, this isn't a complete solution or anywhere near where I want it to be, but it'll help alleviate some of the crap that gets uploaded in the meantime.

Another nice serverside feature has been added. 

 

All themes above 100mb would previously be uploaded but excluded from download for others until they were manually transcoded and added back into the network.

 

Now, they are automatically transcoded, then automatically added back into the network, making them almost immediately available for others.

 

What this means for you guys is themes delivered as fast as possible at all times. :-)

 

FFMPEG is used for the transcode process and should match that of the quality you get from Emby transcodes, so if you're happy with that then you'll be happy with this! :-D

Hi Recently purchased your plugin and i'm getting a problem with the movie & TV video themes, the theme songs is working correctly on both?

It creates the backdrops folder which is hidden for the movies if finds but hidden folder is always empty?

 

I have reinstalled the plugins and restarted my PC but the logs always show the same error for each movie.

 

New version pushed 1.1.1.9 which should fix the issue for tv and movie vids. The ffmpeg builds recently changed and the audio codec i was using is no longer available. Managed to fix on my server at home from my Pad so hopefully all will be well! 

 

You can get it faster by manually reinstalling the plugins.

Wow you were a lot quicker than me I did find that that unknown encoder libvo_accenc error appear when i manually tried to encode it.

 

Have reinstalled the 1.1.1.9 versions and everything looks good now getting theme videos.

However, I bumped the build number and released a 1.1.2.0. I've tried it on my home server and it installed fine so hopefully it will for you too. :-)

@@radeon I just wanted to say great plugin! It was totally worth the few bucks to have all the video themes fly in to my folders with a click of a button. This has added a high level of polish to ET... well done!

Recently moved my Emby server to a different machine, seem to have lost validation of owning the app... Will be buying it to show support. Not complaining, just letting you know Radeon. Have no problem buying the app. I believe you allowed me a free ownership due to testing years ago. Still my favorite app. Well done.

Just PAID for the APP. Great work indeed. Takes while figure how it works with KODI. But over all I am pleased, money well spent! I do have a question or 2 on the REQUIRMENTS of the video playback.... the do and don'ts. example trailers ok? resolution 720/1080p? format mkv/mp4?

In answer to your questions, general rule of thumb is NO TRAILERS!!!! ;-) Especially if you have the contribution network switched on as your own added themes also get uploaded as well as giving you access to a massive list of extra themes submitted by others. But yeah, trailers is a big hate of mine and other users of the plugin.

 

The format is checked by the plugin before uploading and if it doesn't meet the requirements, i.e. low resolution, it wont be submitted. Those which are uploaded and really too big to sustain the bandwidth automatically get transcoded.

 

MKV, MP4, m2ts and even Avi are all supported formats.

Yes this Helps alot... I sorta get no trailers. but what are some of the reasons??? if you dont mind me asking.  Maybe in TVtunes should have option to use trailers a video theme option to use... so you dont get slamed with unwanted trailers.

When you say "Others", where are they? Do you have a forum somewhere? I ask because I was looking for a contributors forum for this plugin but could not find anything.  Thanks
