how to sort in ascending series of episodes?

Hi, welcome. Why not create a new topic as this is not specific to the debian installation. Thanks!

Seems to be fixed in 3.0.5879.0 - at least here.

Hi all,

I'm unable to update Emby or the version number status is not updating.

I'm running Emby on Debian 8 and due to issues I was having with something else I switched from production to Beta, then with the latest update reverted to production (Version 3.0.5871.0). Since then I have been unable to apply the update (or have it displayed as such in Emby). Debian believes the update package has been applied. I even downloaded the Debian package (emby-server_3.0.5879_all.deb) and installed it manually. Any thoughts and let me know if you need more information.

Thanks,

Jon.

I'm unable to update from 3.0.5781.2 on Debian 8. Apt-get is holding back both emby and libnono (see log below).

I deleted the bin folder in /usr/lib/emby-serverand  removed emby-server (apt-get remove emby-server) and installed it again (apt-get install emby-server). But nothing helps.

Can someone help me to solve this issue?

Hi,

after installation of emby-server I configured another port (41722) via webinterface and activated ssl connection. After restart no chance to get emby-server running again:

Any chance you configured both the SSL and the standard ports to use the same port number ?

Yes that's what I was thinking too, although he said he completely uninstalled and reinstalled

I'm unable to update from 3.0.5781.2 on Debian 8. Apt-get is holding back both emby and libnono (see log below).

togashi@aiko:~$ su

Password:

root@aiko:/home/togashi# apt-get update

Do a (see below) that should take care of it.

apt-get dist-upgrade

Right but the user never "purged" the package. Removing a package leaves behind the configs.

I would do

apt-get purge emby-server

replace emby-server with emby-server-beta or emby-server-dev if needed.

@@Luke and  @NomadCF: I purged emby-server and did a clean beta-install. Now it works again. I´ll just leave the port as it is :-)

Thanks guys!

Your on a linux box, which means there is always more than one way to do basically everything! Which means if you don't want to edit your Emby setup you can use one of the other MANY of mapping ports to other ports.

Simplest would be iptables

iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp --dport 41722 -j REDIRECT --to-port 8920

Other options include

  1. haproxy (my personal choice,  as there is so many reasons to use this,  even for a standard setup )
  2. Stunnel (can you configure this to do the SSL to non SSL encryption for you, or just a  simple port redirection like iptables)
  3. NGINX, Apache, tinySSL,  etc in a reverse proxy.

Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to install emby server on a Asus AC-RT68U router.

On the router i have installed NG-Entware, that makes it possible to install programs on the router.

https://www.hqt.ro/category/entware-ng/

I have also installed Debian Jessie on the router.

It should be nice if it is possible, and i should be totally great is somebody can tell me how to do that.

You might not like the results if you could, your router only has a dual core 1GHz processor (with no active cooling) and a mere 256MB of ram.

To put that into prospective emby on my server after running for only 15 mins and with out any connections uses  1.065 Gigs of ram and no less then a constant 2% of one of my cpus.

** Side note : While router chip(s|sets) are rated for some high temps (+120 degrees in most cases). The extra heat will degrade them over time. Now how much and how fast it will degrade them is any ones guess.
