How to see list of Show episodes

Hi,

New here, so please bear with me. I couldn't figure out which is the right forum to post in. I don't know what the difference between MB Theatre and MB Classic is; which one(s) I have or don't. I installed MB Server on Windows 7 and I point my browser at that to watch media, usually from Windows machines.

How does a person get the list of episodes available for a TV Show when looking at the show's page?

With a navigation path  of "Home > TV > Shows > {click show}" I see a backdrop picture, some buttons to vote up/down and favourite the show, and 3 buttons beneath that for [play] [sync] [:]. Pushing [play] allows me to "play" of "shuffle", but doesn't give a chance to select _what_ to play, it just starts playing an episode. I expected a list to play from.

Scroll down the page and there's a list of cast and crew, links to imdb etc. sites and a list of "if you like this you might also like...". All of which can be interesting, but is not important when all one wants to do is watch! ;-)

There's a couple of older forum threads asking a similar question, but I don't see how to adapt the answers there to what I see. Here's the closes matching thread, http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/3943-mbc-request-tv-series-episode-list-view-in-season/, from which the pertinent line seems to be "I think all themes at least have a "List" view.  It may also be called "Details".", but I don't see any item like that to click on.

Please, what am I missing? I've been at this for an hour now. Thanks.

By the looks of your screenshot you are just looking at the server web browser, not MBTheater or MBClassic, but yes you can also watch from the browser.

Below the TV show cover and backdrop there should be the seasons lined up side by side, clicking a season should take you into the episode list. If you don't see the seasons then something has gone wrong with the way you set up and pointed to your media collection.

It would be more helpful to see more of your screenshot and also a few more details about the way your media is stored and how you pointed to the media itself if you're not seeing the season posters

Yes I'm using a browser to the server. By your phrasing I'm guessing then that Theater and Classic are different desktop programs to download, I don't remember seeing them presented as options. anyway, that's a side issue.

I finally figured out that the picture below the backdrop and play icon is for seasons, with episode list and thumbnails buried behind that. Looking at a show with only one season, that click through path is not obvious. I thought it was just another piece of artwork. it was only after seeing show with 2 seasons that I understood the principle.

the part that really confused me was that pushing play just picked an episode, seemingly at random, and didn't give any filenames or other tools to know what was happening or how to pick something else.

thank you for taking the time to help and offer guidance. I appreciate it.

If your folder structure is setup correctly and the shows are recognized with metadata all populated then the seasons should be shown right below what is shown in your screenshot.  For example, here's a pic of Friends on my server:

If your shows aren't showing up similarly then it's possible there is a problem with the way your files are organized on the disc, the library is defined, etc.

If you go to the download section of the website, and select choose your apps, you can download either Emby Theater or Emby classic.  Classic is an add-on to Windows Media Center, which allows you to browse through your library and playback using Windows Media Center as the video player.  Emby Theater is a standalond client that handles the browsing and playback.  They both connect to Emby Server to obtain all of the information regarding the media in your library for viewing (presumably) on your tv or other networked device.
