Emby Bling

Hi all,

I am just about done rebuilding my HTPC and I was really hoping to bling it out with MB graphics but I really had to stretch my skills to create this self-portrait

527ee3e096b07_selfportrait.gif

I have been looking through the fan art section and most of it is intended for use within MB but I was looking to extend that to backgrounds, startup screens, lock screens, ....... for the HTPC as its only purpose in life is to serve as a conduit for all the awesomeness that is MB.

Thanks in advance

Cheers

EDIT: Just after I clicked the button to post this message I realized it probably should have been created in the Fan Art section. If a mod could move it it would be much appreciated. If it is fine where it is that is good as well. Thanks

Any style you are going for?  Color scheme?  Wide open is nice, but a starting point would help.  Examples of other things you like, how your setup looks, anything.

that is to say, above and beyond (if possible) what tikuf has already provided.

That's a great idea.

Good idea. Personally I use rotating backdrops, fanart from movies. I downloaded a couple of packs of movie backdrops a few years back that I've been updating now and then with backdrops from my own collections of films. I forget where I got them, but it's become a bit of a game with the family now; guess the movie from the backdrop :)

Further proof that my memory is terrible ... I don't think it was Mediabrowser, may have been MeediOS? Used to have a plugin that would kick in pre-movie* or as the screensaver, with Movie trivia questions sometimes based on artwork, all set on a timer so you got the questions on screen for 10 seconds, then the answer, then the next question .... I remember making up some trivia cards for it, just don't recall the app. Yeah, kind of off topic but just segued into it :)

OT: A Media browser image for lock screen and start up of win 7 could be good though.

*You hit play, the trivia would kick in, then you could hit play again and the movie would start, or intro's if you use them of course. This gave folks something to do whilst inevitably waiting on the one or two members of the family who will "be there in 5 minutes" or just have to get up and get a drink whilst waiting for the "be there in 5 minutes" family member who then appears while the other is getting a drink, and of course the "you should have gone before the movie started ... fine, I'll pause it" family member.

If you use an xbox i did a nice start up screen to match your own icon

So how many years did you go to art school? :D

That is awesome and I am almost tempted to use it as it will make me laugh/smile every time I start up the system.

Cheers

EDIT: Still laughing :D

Although it would be really tough to beat what tikuf already provided, I am on the dark side of things with blacks, reds and blues.

At this point my setup of 8.1 on my HTPC is clean with nothing added, just got it together yesterday. For MBC I am using ROC with the dark setting

Thanks

I could totally see the trivia thing being great for entertaining, the wife and I and friends would love it. The kids however, 12 and 14, are in the zone of "It has been 5 seconds without the movie starting, I'm bored"

I am going to explore the customization options for Win8.1 as much as possible to have the HTPC be less like a computer and be more like a home theater where everything is focused on the content and media.

Cheers

I like your setup! Mine kinda sucks at the moment since I had to mount it high enough to keep my kids from messing around with the TV. Anyway here's mine.

Thanks :D

I am loving that case

As you can tell by mine, I have an affinity for blue lights. Has been setup like that for about 3 years, ever since I got the TV. Current House is sold now and we move into a new build at the end of January and I get to start all over again in my dream basement .... unfinished ;)

Cheers

EDIT: I solved my kid problem by giving their own TV in the laundry room .... They have their own XBOX 360 in there as well, but since the XBOX ONE is going in my room I expect to see them a lot more after Nov 22nd
