Changing an Episode to played crashes MBC

Hello

I was watching a TV episode and I noticed when it finished MBC did not set it as played. So I pressed the clear button on the remote to manually set it and MBC freezes to the point I need to kill WMC via the task manager. I notice this only happens in Favourites and series.

If I play a episode from the home screen it marks that episode as played without a problem, how ever if I manually set it to played (Pressing clear on the remote) it will crash WMC as well.

 

Of course I can manually set the episode to play via the server webUI without any problems.

O so sorry mate I posted this when I was really tired (didn't sleep for over 36 hours) So I would like to apologise for not posting the log and event error logs.

 

Here is a screen shot. You can see I am selecting Mark Played and then MBC stops responding.

 

The server log around the same time the MBC stopped responding.

The Windows event log. These are from yesterday when the problem started right after updating to Beta v3.0.251. The windows event log are only created after I force ehshell.exe to crash.

I have checked the log folder for MBC but there is no log files in there? I did find the config files there though.

can you post a text version of event viewer log, you need to click on applications, then wait for it to poulate and select media centre from the list. Then sort by dare and time.

the mbc logs can be found in c:\programdata\mediabrowser-classic\logs

you may need to enable how hidden files and folders... Google is your friend if you are not sure how to do this.

Thanks I misread were the MBC log files were located lol silly me

After more testing I have found out that it does not crash WMC or MBC but does course both to freeze for 2 minutes & 20 Seconds.

This only happens the first time you try to mark something to played or unplayed. If you stay logged in to that user in MBC and wait for both MBC and WMC to unfreeze (wait 2 minutes & 20 Seconds), then mark the same or another TV show as played or unplayed it works properly (Marks it straight away). However if you log out of the user and log back in to MBC the same problem happens.

 

This is not on an extender but on the same computer as the server is installed on.

I have disabled my anti-virus and firewall still the same problem.

Also, we will still need event viewr log if you can create the crash again. I'll take a look at the logs now.

Nothing in MBC log really and your toggle was sent and received back from server within a second.

 

Try uninstalling Subdued and any other themes, only leaving Chocolate installed. If that fixes the problem, add one theme at a time and retry when it breaks again tell me last theme installed.

No crash log is create. The only crash log are the one that were created because I (myself) forced the program WMC to force close. I did this thinking the program froze and could not be recovered without restarting. As you can see in my further testing waiting the 2 minutes and 20 seconds the WMC comes out of it's freeze.

This only happens if you are inside one of the new views, right?
