mhariush 11
Not sure if this is even possible, but can Soundgraph (iMon) support be added to MBT? Or perphaps a plug-in that will let it send info to some other program, like MC that is iMon compatible? I would like to be able to display the time code of video content on my display, and thought this was possible before I went ahead and bought the case I have.
BATTLE DONKEY 98
+1 I have an Antec Fusion Black case with with the soundgraph imon screen. I have long ago just unplugged it tho. At the time it was just a pain in the a$$ to deal with, the screen was incredibly bright, very limited support and functions for it (it was like watching a movie with a flashlight pointing at me, but luckily opening up iTunes would cause the imon software to crash n turn off the screen lol), and the IR sensor didn't work very well with my harmony remote. I actually got a set of filters for the screen itself to dim it down, I planned to open it up, cover the IR sensor with electrical tape and keep using my USB IR sensor instead, after looking at what was involved to open it up and add the filter screens I gave up and just left it unplugged. It would be nice to see a plugin of some sort, that could communicate with the screen and let u have complete control of what it displays and when. Problem is the soundgraph imon software (last I checked, which was a couple years ago) isn't open source or well supported either, so I'm not sure its possible
Spaceboy 2492
Had a second screen running imon. It's been disabled for a while for exactly the same reasons

They stopped supporting it years ago and are ignoring all the requests in their forum to supply the source code. I'd never buy another soundgraph product or a case with one of their display in it again.

Maybe this can help us: https://github.com/BlackMan82/xbmc-on-imon I'm no programmer but I use this on Kodi and it works well, maybe this can also port to the MB products.
aquatarkus 2
Hi there I have the Antec Fusion case (silver) with the Imon VFD display. Always had issues with the display suddenly going all garbled and not responding. Finally worked out that it was being caused by the remote controls for TV, Tivo box etc (now have a Harmony One+). I cured the issue by glueing a piece of silver paper over the IR receiver, i had already disabled in the Imon software the remote options but that never made any difference. Since installing the silver paper never had a problem. this of course means that the imon no longer works with a remote but cured that by purchasing a media centre remote off ebay and using the RC6 usb dongle that came with it to pick up the Harmony One+. Since running Win8.1 i have never been able to get the Imon VFD display to show the equalizer nor film or audio title as i could when running Win 7, The Imon forums are a waste of time, i actually think the company no longer exists, there have been no relevant postings on any of the Soundgraph / Imon forums for a couple of years. I did try the XBMC / Imon plugin(xbmc on imon) but that caused issues and instability so now the VFD just displays the news, weather and info about my HTPC. shame really as the Imon VFD is nice (much better than the LCD version) just that the Imon software was crap. I need to do this with mine, I have an old WMC remote kit somewhere. Since Win8 the iMon IR receiver only sees the number keys as numbers, so it's not possible to use it for skipping through a library by letter. Really annoying! +1 I have an Antec Fusion Black case with with the soundgraph too. Maybe this can help us: https://github.com/BlackMan82/xbmc-on-imon I'm no programmer but I use this on Kodi and it works well, maybe this can also port to the MB products. Yes, there's an API that SG released but I can't find the documents and downloads for it. If someone can find these then 'maybe' I, or someone cleverer, could have a look at creating a plugin for MB to send media information to the iMon VFD. I think it has to be a plugin for the player though, MBT or MBC, rather than a server side plugin. What player is everyone using? I'm using MBT because of the inclusion of MadVR. The other option is to reverse engineer that XBMC-on-iMon project, to figure out the iMon API, but that's got to be more labour intensive. However, if what Keith is saying about all the problems with the display on Win8.1 is true then I'm stuck because I don't have Win7 on my HTPC anymore. I wouldn't know because mine sits in a cupboard now with the VFD facing the wall!
BATTLE DONKEY 98
http://www.soundgraph.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7375 Is this what ur looking for? I also found this, another open source which claims it works with the soundgraph screens but was wondering if anyone has tried this out or have any experience with it http://lcdsmartie.sourceforge.net Anyways, hope any of that helps, I too would like to get some use out of a long ago unplugged screen on my HTPC case. I'm using MBClassic primarily, but switch to MBTheater from time to time to test out, but I'm waiting to see the overhaul of it before I completely switch over. Hopefully ebr has a chocolate theme in the pipes for MBTheater once its overhauled and themeable... wolfbuddy 16
Neither the document nor the API download links work now for the display or the remote APIs, which is why I was asking if anyone can find them. Not really surprising, this is Soundgraph we are talking about after all. There is, however, this; https://github.com/BlackMan82/imonapi-sharp Which looks complete, usable and a supports LCDs too. I think that the API is in iMON Manager v8.04.0629 and later, I have the last version that SG released but I haven't checked the version. There's nothing in there for remotes though. I'll read through it but I might need some help from one of the MB guys to turn it into a working plugin.
wolfbuddy 16
:-D Are any of you guys up for doing some testing? I don't have a Win7 machine or one with a VFD display. It would be good to do some debugging on 32 and 64-bit machines too. I also need people to tell me what kind of MBT stuff they want to be able to display. My LCD display has a bunch of icons which I should be able to utilise.
mhariush 11
I wish I could be doing testing, but I have no skills like that. What I would like the display to show is: Timecode for the media playing, maybe with a Play/Pause symbol in front of it. Like your standard blu-ray/dvd player. I think others have mentioned they'd like to see the name of the media that is playing.
wolfbuddy 16
Well, your L16M has a VFD display and since you requested iMon support your an ideal candidate for testing. All you have to do is copy some files into your MBT folders, launch MBT and send me the MBT log files and some photos of the iMon display.
mhariush 11
Ah I see what you mean now, I thought you meant code writing testing. I can def test it out. Tell me what to do
wolfbuddy 16
Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you the download links and instructions. There's no timecode functionality in it yet, which I know you want, but I will add this later once we've done some basic debugging.
WarrenH 16
I've the VFD version on my Win 7 machine and it and it's remote software work just fine for me. Yes it doesn't tell me if I'm playing /pausing, nor the timecode, although don't think these things are necessary as they're not only displayed on the TV, but the iMon screen is probably too small to read unless you're sitting on top of the TV. Instead, probably the most useful tool is LedsDriver. I've fitted a multi-coloured LED to my system case, plugged into an internal serial port and using LedsDriver software, am able to through varying colours and flashes, identify how many channels I'm recording, when playback is paused, stopped, etc. http://slicksolutions.eu/ledsdriver.shtml Without Win8 drivers for the VFD, I know that I'll drop iMon; not an issue as it's not that practical - and probably why it was never that successful. wolfbuddy 16
Your VFD will work in Win8.1 with MBT, we're working on the plugin now. And with the scrolling LCD. Edited January 26, 2015 by wolfbuddy

mtosic 1
I have Antec Remote Fusion Black and Windows 8.1 installed with MBT. That iMon software is complete garbage (always been). If you need some testing, I can do it. Also, I'm an developer (focused on .NET/C#), so If you need any help with development, just PM me.

wolfbuddy 16
Thanks for the interest, and offers of help. After requesting some information about the API from the dev team, I decided to put this on hold for a while. The reason is the devs said that the MBT API is changing and I'd got to a point where it might of been a lot of work to update what I'd already done. They also don't seem very keen for people to release plugins for MBT until the new MBT is ready, which I think is right. Luke has said just yesterday that they are still working hard on the overhaul of the MBT architecture. Additionally, the work that I have done so far, with the help of Marius and Alwin, has proved that the iMon API has enough features that a plugin with MBT is possible and worth doing. So when the new MBT finally does arrive, I'll be back to take up all the offers to help get this plugin released. In the meantime, lots of 'likes' would help to raise the profile of this thread. :-D

Teddy 51
wolfbuddy , if I'm not wrong with what I read in this post has gotten the Imon display can show the file information reproduced on MediaBrowser using MBT , (I thing will same for MBC) . When the Emby for WMC is started doesn't shows Emby in the display, neither when Powerdvd plays any DVD or Bluray ISO but the movies. Is possible when is using Powerdvd shows the title on imon display? If so could you please explain what steps? Thanks in advance Edited September 28, 2015 by Teddy
