Trakt v2 api update

Luke

Recommended Posts

Scrobbling does not work after the update to Trakt v2 API. Ive checked my username and password 5 times now. If I downgrade scrobbling works, but not sync...

The password issue only got rid of the "unable to connect to Trakt" problem. Now that it doe connect there seems to be problems with scrobbling/sync. Some of my episodes which has been watched shows as unwatched in Trakt whilst some episodes that was watched long ago now show today's date (the first run after correcting the password problem).

Updating/changing the watch status in Trakt also does not work.

Major update - major problems?

Major issues with Trakt site updating api/server issues...  Hard to make a plugin work seamlessly when the server it's connecting to is up and down at random.

exactly, i would keep an eye on the trakt twitter feed. it's a moving target right now so our hands are tied until they stabilize.

Thanks. It does not work with me these days. There are no errors in the log file, but it basically says that 0 movies are synced. Shall I provide a log or shall we just wait until the trakt folks get their act together.

Same as others report. Scrobble currently not working.

Sync "working" - but doing some weird stuff. Haven't had chance to look into it properly, but seems to be marking stuff I've watched over the last few weeks as watched each time I run sync (watched time = time sync was run). Think Trakt sees them as watched multiple times. So Trakt data a bit messed up.

Will have a closer look when I get chance. Kind of seems like the plugin is reporting the synced stuff incorrectly?

Was better running the old plugin, scrobbling working, while only issue was syncing library - no real issue with that not working for a while.

It looks like things got sorted out. Scrobbling is working fine.

Still not for me

Scrobbling still does not work for me either... Works on my Plex-server which is also updated with the trakt v2 API.

Seems to only work when you manually set something to watch but it doesnt work when you finish watching a show

Manually marking TV shows as watched in MBT - updated trakt.

(Side issue - sometimes MBT/MBS doesn't mark something as watched when you finish watching it - not sure why? Watched two shows last night, had to manually mark both as watched after watching them.)

Have had a chance to look properly at Trakt.

After running the sync library it synced approx 40 shows and movies as being watched then (time of sync) - they're things I've watched in the past. As far back as June... (Why MBS/Trakt Plugin things I've just watched them now is beyond me.)

I've just manually deleted ~40x3=120 watched programs from my Trakt history (used sync 3 times). Little annoying trying to tell those 'extra' watches apart from actual watches on those days.

Assume this isn't fixed, but will give sync another try tonight, seeing as I can cleanup the mess it makes.

Can I have a little more information about those programs? Are they normal series or anime? The physical files are inside a season folder or just in the series folder?

They are movies and series. The series are within a season folder in the series folder. Normal series (don't have any anime).

Anything else let me know... (Haven't looked if it's a complete list of stuff I've watched in x amount of days - my guess would be that it's not.)

Just found the issue with the episodes scrobble. They made a change after the plugin was updated. Just wait a little until my pull request is accepted.

Thank you everything is working fine now. You should consider adding a donate button.

Ok I tried the sync again last night (54 entries). Pretty sure I only clicked the button once. But it's marked 17 movies as watched TWICE at the same time (time of sync, while these were actually watched in the last few months).

It synced 20 episodes (no double ups at least). But only 10 of them have been watched and should be marked watched (during the Trakt API issues). Watch time is still time of sync - almost a preferred behavior, easy to see in my Trakt history, I'd hate to try and cleanup if it was all over the place.

So just very broken! Others don't seem to be reporting this behavior with sync?!

Here's a screenshot of Trakt (ticked the ones that it should have actually synced - rest are all errors):

Is there somewhere that describes what's supposed to happen with the Trakt plugin?

I think I'd actually like the option in the Trakt plugin to:

1) never be able to mark something as unwatched (don't want it to be able to destroy my Trakt data).

2) when syncing and something isn't marked as watched already in Trakt, mark it as watched at time of sync (vs time of watched).

I've got ~1600 movies marked as watched in Trakt with ratings etc, I really don't want to risk losing or damaging that data!

Basically just wanting to be sure my data is safe. Perhaps logs of what's done so it can be undone? Or a report of what it's about to do that requires you to approve it.

Actually Trakt perhaps needs 'auditing' tools. Somewhere you go and see everything that's been done by the API at various times, and delete/undo/rollback.

Speaking of what happens with the plugin, I have a feature request.

I would like an option to easily add movies from the trailers channel to my trakt watch list. Maybe using the "favorite" button.

I know this might not be the right place to post feature requests, but still wanted to throw that one out there while we're discussing functionality.

There is an option like this already. Is this what you're referring to? Or do you mean the other way around?

No I think he wants it the other way around (don't push unwatched states). That setting is just when pulling from trakt.

Yes other way round. Safeguarding Trakt data. Not many use cases where if something is watched, should it then be marked as unwatched...? Only ones I can think of is accidentally logging in with the wrong user, or falling asleep / not actually finishing it while it's played to the end.

Trakt (when working properly) covers all your watched statuses not just what's in your library (a subset). It also includes stuff you've watched elsewhere or at cinemas etc.

Any thoughts on the wackiness I'm getting when running the scheduled task Luis? Hope it's clear enough as to what's happening. (If I run the task again it just marks all the same stuff was watched AGAIN at the time of running the task.)

I'm having too problems with the sync task, it adds the same 5 movies and 7 tv show to my watched history everytime that the task runs either scheduled or manually.

There is nothing different in those movies and show that could cause this, at least nothing that i can see.
