jamvids 37
Just a quick word to say how impressed I am by mb3, I used to use mb2 for films and tv series, documentaries and stand up which the metadata was easy to handle, and what a great result you get when teamed up with the right skin. I never used this for music though. Then when mb3 came along and then my old pc bit it it gave me the chance to rebuild from scratch. So I decided to add music this time and it is turning out to be a bit of a minefield especially when it comes to music videos, and getting everything to link together. which leads me to my first question. i was just wondering how to structure my music videos, at the moment I do it similar to albums i.e. music videos/artist/artist name - song title.ext. Is this right?

jamvids 37
Yeah I had already looked at that, so should each song be in it's own folder with the year in brackets (as with films). I have 2 scenarios with music videos, random acquired videos in an artist folder, and ripped dvd's, each track individually ripped and kept in a sub folder with dvd artwork. I have manually entered a lot of the metadata and have fairly good results, the separate with ; feature for artist doesn't seem to work. Some little problems are, if I am browsing my music collection and for example look at Alice Cooper, he is in a few albums, in a few music videos, a few concerts, a few films, and a few episodes of shows, but the system shows 3 Alice Coopers, folder, artist and person so don't link together properly. Tackling the problem of music to display correctly will be an amazing achievement if it can be perfected. I haven't seen a single bit of software do it yet and I am hoping mb3 could be the one to do it. I am holding back a bit with throwing my entire music collection at it and will ebb away at it for now.
