tsh854 1
Hi, I'm using the Web Client to watch movies/shows on the same PC as MB-Server is running and finding that as the video plays the audio slowly gets further and further out of sync. It's perfectly in sync at the start time but the longer I've been watching the further it goes out of sync (audio behind video). I've not noticed any buffering problems. If I exit the video then resume it's back in sync again. MB-Server version - 3.0.5445.6 OS - Win7 Browser - Chrome v39 Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks, Tom server Log.txt Transcode Log.txt
BAS 225
I believe this is Chrome issue, I had a few of my family members switch to Firefox and this problem went away when using that browser. Google probably changed something in Chrome. Just my two cents.
tsh854 1
I haven't tried Firefox but I did try IE but the video was very jerky. I should correct my post above - the audio is ahead of the video not behind.
Concept211 13
I have the same issue and see it happening on 3 different computers running Chrome. The only difference is that for me it plays fine for a good 5 minutes or so then suddenly the audio is out of sync (ahead of the video). Stopping it and resuming always resolves the issue but it's a pain to do and kind of ruins the experience when doing it so frequently throughout a show or movie. I did try running it on the same computer but through Microsoft Edge and it played just fine. I also stream to multiple TVs at the house running the Media Center client and they all run fine as well. Also tried on the Android client and no issues. Is Emby streaming a different format to Chrome than to other browsers/clients? Are there any settings that we can set to force Emby to use the same transcoding to Chrome as it does for the other clients?

Best thing to do is discuss a specific example and provide the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks !
jhoff80 87
For what it's worth, I've gotten reports of the same exact thing for a month or two now. Chrome loses sync after 5-10 minutes, and Edge (and apps) do not. I've seen this with the standard Emby ffmpeg and also the newest stable version that I'm using in these logs. The user in these logs stopped playback after the AV sync issue was really bad. Doubt it'll matter in interpreting them, but for the record I did a Find & Replace to change my domain to "server" in the log file. ffmpeg-transcode-61fa9e52-b93a-47ed-a877-bd22edaeef7c.txt Server.txt Edited April 13, 2017 by jhoff80
Concept211 13
Thank you @@jhoff80! This is a major issue and I've had to stop using Chrome altogether when using Emby because it's simply unwatchable. Works fine with Edge and Firefox. I hope this bug gets more attention from the devs because it's a pretty significant one. Will probably leave a bad taste in new users' mouths and jump ship for Plex. Luke 37060
We're making some audio sync adjustments for the next release of Emby Server. Thanks !
Alternative311 1
Hi guys, Has there been any other interest on this... as this is still an issue with my setup as well? Locally through all the Apps it works fine, but web app with Chrome is still the issue.
