Netbug 26
So I just launched MBC and it prompted for a plugin update (trackt). I performed the update, but now 90% of my metadata from my TV shows is gone. I can't figure out why. Like, it's actually gone from the file structure as well. It seems to have only affected the Shows section, no other media structure was affected. Any ideas? How do I force a reload of that metadata? :/ Version 3.0.5031.21343 Media Browser Server is up to date Server log 1: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1233738/server-63518169600.log Server log 2: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1233738/server-63518256019.log Server log 3: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1233738/server-63518321787.log Server log 4: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1233738/server-63518321805.log Edited October 25, 2013 by Netbug
Luke 37009
Well first lets drop mbc and go test in the web client, and tell us if that's behaving normally or not.
Netbug 26
The same information was missing from the web client. Also, when I checked the directory structure itself, all the metadata files were gone. It has corrected itself overnight with a rescan. One other thing I have noticed, is it changed the view in MBC back to the default for everything (as opposed to slideshow). Very strange behavior. Netbug 26
Apologies, "thumb strip" in the views menu in MBC. It has reloaded the majority of the images since I went to bed last night, however all of the episode summaries are still missing. And when I hit "refresh", it does not load them. Netbug 26
http://i.imgur.com/PEF0jG0.png http://i.imgur.com/EcS0EWi.png The data is now showing there, however, it's still not showing in the web client nor MBC, and all the played states are gone. So in the dashboard, I see just the thumbnail; no episode title, nor summary. It is also not downloading metadata when I'm in the web client and attempt to force it: http://i.imgur.com/2gMnJdQ.png Edited October 27, 2013 by Netbug
ebr 14903
MB thinks those are movies. What collection type did you specify when you setup that collection? How is the media directory defined there?
Netbug 26
"General or Mixed Content" They have been working absolutely fine up until a few days ago. I'm not quite sure what you are asking by how it is defined, here's a screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/7iLgtfh.png Edited October 27, 2013 by Netbug
Luke 37009
At this point it's best to wait for the upcoming server release and report back.
ebr 14903
Something has happened to the media structure or content to make MB think those are movies. Make sure there isn't a collection.xml or folder.xml in one of the parent folders of those episodes.

Make sure there isn't a collection.xml or folder.xml in one of the parent folders of those episodes. I'll have a look this evening when I get home again. It's very odd though. Truly, nothing was added at the time that it went weird; I just sat down to watch an episode of community, it asked for a plugin update, rebooted, and boom. I'll wait till the next server release before putting too much time in to it. Edited October 28, 2013 by Netbug
ebr 14903
The plug-in update was coincidental. That just caused a new library scan. The basic problem is that the items are no longer considered TV so we need to find the cause of that.
Netbug 26
I've gone through every folder in that directory; there is no folder.xml nor collection.xml. There were a few "movie.xml" which I deleted. All the other xmls seem to be series.xml or specific episode names.
ebr 14903
Movie.XML is also a problem. That tells us those are movies.
Netbug 26
It still isn't pulling the metadata for the episodes. Is there a simple way to just purge it and start over?
Netbug 26
I tried removing that collection and recreating it with the type as "TV Shows". It found nothing at all when I did that. I went through every folder, one-by-one, and found nothing that I didn't recognize; there were no media files in the top-level of a show name and there were no xml files aside from "series.xml". All updates were performed today. At this point, I think I'm going to have to manually go through the directories one-by-one, after removing the collection from MBS, and delete all the meta-data. What a pain. And I still don't know what caused it, which is even more frustrating.
Netbug 26
I actually did create it as a TV Shows collection after messing around with it the other night. Luke 37009
That's too much. I don't really know what i'm looking at. Shutdown the server. Create one dummy tv collection. Then add one small series to it. Give it a few minutes. Then post that log please.
Netbug 26
Anybody know an easy way to remove all meta-data and force a re-download? This just keeps getting worse and worse.
Luke 37009
it's more of an identification issue. you should use the tv shows collection type. set that up and post a log of that.
Netbug 26
I have no idea what it's doing. After a shutdown and restart, it now seems to be scanning the media and slowly adding it back in correctly.

Netbug 26
And now for some reason, it's pulled all the meta data... and started showing information for seasons and episodes I don't even have. With The Daily Show, for example, I only keep the latest episode, yet it's loaded all the meta data for ALL the seasons... and I don't even know I can't play them until I go in and try to play one. :/ EDIT: This seems to only be on the MBC view. The web client still shows only the seasons and episodes I have. Edited November 1, 2013 by Netbug
