Biomorph 6 Posted October 13 Posted October 13 (edited) I too have an issue with a Firestick, fails to connect when all other devices have no issue. I tried to connect via the Amazon Silk browser to the local address but it failed with a 'took too long' message, tried to connect to another service on a different port and was successful. When I tried to connect via my external IP address it then worked immediately. Taking ebr's comment about network changes into consideration the only thing I could thing of was a firmware update on the TP-Link M5 mesh system I use. This system has some network security features and so i tried turning them off to see the result and sure enough the client running on the Firestick would then connect. Whilst connected I could play file etc. but within a few seconds of reenabling said security features playback would not work, I could still browse my library but not play anything. I then looked at the threats recently blocked and could see details as per the screen shot attached. There were threats reported for the Firestick as well as my server and also for an iPad. I recently had an issue with two iOS devices (one being this iPad) that would connect fine but would not playback files, giving a 'no compatible streams' error. This was rectified by enabling a setting for 'Local Network' access on both these devices. The iPad in question is still playing files but I find it odd seeing the exact same 'threat' for this device as the treat listed for the Firestick. I am unsure though if this is solely an issue with a firmware update from TP-Link or if it also relates to the latest update to Emby Server, both of these updates were releases fairly close in time however looking at the release notes for the latest update from TP-Link (https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/deco-m5/#Firmware) it appears there was a major update followed by a minor update that "Fixed a bug causing security protection to generate false positives." Biomorph 6 Posted October 13 Author Posted October 13 And after now hunting aound the TP-Link forums, I'm gonna say it's their issue, quite a few posts REĀ Intrusion Prevention causing issues for people across all sorts of functionality. 1
