Like with the original media file. Does it depend what quality it is originally in and format type too ? If so give me an example please.

Sure it depends on screen size too.

Hi.

Sorry just what is the lowest quality you can stream in for it to be still good enough quality to watch ? Forgot to say being able to reencode on the fly from  whatever original quality is doable.  I know it depends on screen size and connection too.

That is subjective and also depends on screen resolution. Maybe 480p? But then again if you’re in portrait aspect ratio on a phone, you could possibly go even lower and it might look ok.

With Emby apps the lowest quality (potato) is 144p, which would produce 256x144 or 192x144. Most people would not consider that acceptable. I consider anything 360p or higher as watchable. Maybe not eye candy, but watchable.

Yes, indeed. The final quality depends on the resolution, bitrate, and format of the original file. For example, a 4K MP4 will look sharper on a large screen than a 720p AVI of the same video.
