No EmbyCon app to open

Hello, I just installed EmbyCon via https connection as per the instructions. It appeared as though it was successful.

However, EmbyCon does not appear in my add-ons list, nor do I see an EmbyCon skin available to choose from. When listing add-ons installed, EmbyCon reports as installed (and from this ui, the "Run" option is disabled).

This is on a fresh install of LibELEC/KODI.

Any thoughts?

I noticed there is a Kodi companion add-on on the emby server side... is this necessary?

Hi, did you follow these instructions to install embycon?

Yes, as it was required for installation. Again, I think it installed, as it shows up in the deeper app list. But it does not appear in the top level add-ons list, does not appear in the skins list, and in the deeper app list, the "run" button is disabled.

I don't know what the "deeper app list" or the "top level add-ons list" is.

EmbyCon is a Kodi add-on, it should show up in the video add-on list and when you launch it it should prompt you to log into your Emby Server and then let you view and play your media from within the add-on.

Sorry for the delay. Now that I'm back in front of the thing, by "top level" I mean "Program add-ons visible when you enter the add-ons section", and "deeper app list" means searching through all "My Add-ons" -> "all"

So to recap, Embycon shows up in the "My Add-ons -> all" list, but is not present anywhere else; not in videos/ video add-ons, or in the skins list. Additionally, when opening the entry in the all addons list, the options to run and configure the app are greyed out.

No logs seem to be reported, even with debug logging enabled, and explicitly enabling add-on logging.

did you actually install the addon or just the addon repo?

So yeah apparently you are right, the instructions here:

Only gets you the embyCon _repository_ installed, despite sounding like it installs the apps themselves. I was able to find the correct add-ons after your prompt to look for them.

Perhaps a bump for better documentation of the process then?

ok yeah that's on me, looks like I did not include the actual steps to install the add-on 🙂
