Access to server ok, can't log in

On Android TV app, I find the server but can't log in. I've set the user to show on logon page, did not help. 

If I use my Samsung TV, and the app for the TV, no problem.

Same for web, it works. And my phone works, everything works except this one unit.

The is an Android TV for AltiBox TV distributor in Norway. New yesterday.

 

Log is saved to server today at 14:28 (Norway time). 7:28AM (utc-5)

User: Hansen/hansen tried both.

You can try downloading standard Android app from the Store (search for"Emb") and see how does that compare.

I will check that tomorrow. I just downloaded the first that came up on Emby search. I thought it was the standard Android app, and not Emby TV (old one).
 


And I forgot to mention, that this is over the internet. Not a locale connection.

I'll get the " Invalid username or password" message. 
But I know there isn't, because I use the same credentials on  the TV instead of the Android TV box. It works. Over the web it works and so on.

When I downloaded the Android app, it worked at once. 

So Emby Android TV, didn't work for this device.

OK great. Are you able to continue using Emby for Android? You don't have to keep sideloading as it is also in the store.

Yes, and both of them is in the store. I just installed the wrong version. 🙂

BTW, shouldn't the Android TV version work to?
Not at a big interest for me, have used the other one for soon two years I think. Not any big problems. But still, if it is in the market, it should just work.

Hi.  Yes it should.

Do you have any kind of proxy on your network?  In the past, this issue has come down to a proxy modifying or stripping out the content the app is sending to the server.

I use Caddy for reverse proxy.

But isn't strange that it just will "block" the TV app?

No because the two apps are using slightly different communication methods at login.  If your proxy is stripping post data, that's the problem.

That's way beyond what I know of this.
But in my head, I didn't think the proxy removed anything.

This is my proxy:

{
    email xxxx@gmail.com
}

xxx.xxx.net {
	encode gzip
    reverse_proxy http://192.168.0.2:8096
}

I would suggest comparing your reverse proxy settings to this:

I have to read more about this, and see if I am the type to get this to work.

But thanks for heads-up that Caddy maybe isn't the best for this.
