Managing multiple copies of the same video each with different resolutions

Where would I find information for setting up a library so that users could choose to view a particular version of a movie (eg instead of 1080p, perhaps a 720 or 480)?  I suppose I'm looking for a way to present a single description and movie poster with maybe a drop-down menu for selecting a particular resolution. Some users have trouble streaming at 1080p due to limited bandwidth and transcoding on the fly isn't an option for my server. Thanks!
