BMNBMN 2 Posted June 10 Posted June 10 i have noticed that when i copy films into the library, emby recognizes the film much too quickly (while the copying process is still running) and then all chapters have the same picture. do i always have to shut down the emby server before expanding the library or is there another solution?
Luke 40018 Posted June 10 Posted June 10 HI there, can you please provide a specific example? How to Report a Problem Thanks !

If the copy/move process take longer than 90 seconds then yes this could be a problem but most of the time you should have file access issues in this process. You probably need to disable Realtime Monitoring on the library or edit the system.xml to extend the RTM delay limit (and restart Emby) or edit it via the api. <LibraryMonitorDelaySeconds>90</LibraryMonitorDelaySeconds> But only time I have ever seen all chapter images the same is when the file index itself was messed up during my mp4 conversion before I corrected my reencoding process.
BMNBMN 2 Posted June 12 Author Posted June 12 is there a way to force the recreation of chapters for existing films? i noticed it far too late and now have a lot of these entries.

Not positive but thought Refresh metadata did that. What is your library "Video Preview Thumbnails" settings? 1
BMNBMN 2 Posted June 12 Author Posted June 12 (edited) i changed the "generate video preview thumbnails" to as a scheduled task only which should do the trick for future films. tried to refresh the metadata but did not help. i tried to delete the .bif file and start the video preview thumbnail extraction but all thumbnails on this film are black now. edit: you are right, refresh metadata did the trick if you delete the .bif file first. thank you very much Edited June 12 by BMNBMN 1
