RRo100 6 Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Hello, I bought a new LG OLED65G48LW and have the same problem as with my older model. I'm using Emby for LG TVs 1.0.46. For example, if I activate the "German Forced" subtitle for the movie "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" in 4K, Emby simply freezes. It seems that the LG's performance isn't sufficient, which I can't imagine. My old Fire TV 4 Max responds much faster and doesn't have any problems with the subtitles either. Perhaps the code for the LG app needs to be optimized.

What kind of subs are those (PGSSUB, ASS...)? What kind of a machine/platform your server runs on? Wild guess would be subs format triggers transcoding and your server can't keep up, but without logs it's guesswork only. how to report a media playback issue

RRo100 6 Posted June 9 Author Posted June 9 Hello, I've attached the requested log files. I've been looking into the issue a bit more, and it's not just affecting 4K movies. I've had no problems with the Fire TV Stick (both the old and new clients). So I've ruled out a performance issue with my NAS. PS: The Plex client also has no issues on the LG TV, so the LG's performance should be sufficient. I hope this helps me find the error; I really enjoy using Emby. embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-1a043975-a115-4635-863c-96c0192ba77f_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-1aed0a17-4974-4bab-bf4a-66d97b91296f_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-6c5ae925-dd32-4686-b4f2-c1397b8ad41c_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-505e792f-d5f2-49ab-8122-13565b728e50_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-463861fb-351d-4b43-8f53-7c54431b75f9_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-e3fd0ff5-decd-41ea-b7f3-6b9100fbfeee_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-f3b3785c-857c-4621-a1a5-6d2bc5c437f4_1.txt
SamES 1003 Posted June 9 Posted June 9 Can you check that this folder exists and is writeable by the emby process? /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/EmbyServer/programdata/transcoding-temp/
RRo100 6 Posted June 10 Author Posted June 10 Hello, Yes, the directory exists and the permissions seem to be OK.
SamES 1003 Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Looks like transcoding is too slow, if the transcoding speed less than 1x speed then it's slower than the normal playback speed and will fail. I don't think it will help, but you can try turning of Hardware Acceleration, just in case it is causing a problem. Can you please check this setting as well? If it is off, please try turning it on (and select save at the bottom of the page)
RRo100 6 Posted June 14 Author Posted June 14 Where do I set this setting? I can't find it. What's too slow, the LG TV?

RRo100 6 Posted Tuesday at 12:19 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 12:19 PM The "extraction on the fly" setting was already enabled. What I don't understand is that everything works fine on all other devices. It also works on the LG TV with PLEX, so it must have something to do with the Emby-LG app. I had the same problem with my previous LG TV, and I suspected that the connection wasn't strong enough, but the new TV behaves the same way.
