I realize this is an old thread, but i came across the same thing now in 2025 emby version 4.8.11.0 on synology dsm6. I don't have premier.

I skip ahead and relesae the forward button and playback stops. i have to re-click play to start it up.

Is anyone responding?

Getting the premiere did not change the behaviour of the fast forward button. If I hold down skip ahead 2, 3, 10, 20 min... after I release, playback is stopped, I have to again click PLAY to start up again.

This happens on 2 different tv's, and an nvidia shield.

This does not happen when using another media player, so it has to be emby. any setting i need to check?

Please advise,

Hi, what exactly do you mean by stopped? Do you just mean that it paused?

Ok that is just how that app behaves. Some users actually like it and want us to switch our other Android app to be the same way. You may want to try switching to our standard Android app.

Hi.  Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares?

Thanks.

This one has a different functionality.

click and hold down ff and release, it conitues go skip forward at1x  speed, it is able to go 2x,3x,4x speed until you click play again.

So i understand then, there is no way to resume they way i wish. it's app functions the way its been programmed/designed.

ie no selectable resume  option.

I was hoping that is skipped forward 30s and if i continue to hold down forward, it resumes from that point.

When you speed up to 4x can’t you just click ok or play? Won’t that do what you want?

I'll play with it, see what I can do. Thanks for your help

Let us know how you get on. Thanks!

Looks like the app has been programmed that way. It's a bit annoying (for me) but tolerable.

Unless the developer changes the way the FF button works, then that's how it will work.
